About this mod

Just advice how to rebind for Xbox one or any controller.

Permissions and credits
( see end... )

( This maybe outdated. As the last update removed double bind from Controllers.
It dont make sense. I guess they messed up and made a mistake. This still applies for keyboard.
And you can probably get around this with ReWASD software. )

Game is on GOG or STEAM:

X-box one Controller Tips

Controls Setup:

Go to Controls.
You can rebind controls by pressing the spaces.
Under "Controller" column.
Press what you want to change. A timer count indicates to press it.
You don't need to wait. Press the button two times to finalize.
Third time if, being used by another action.
Or if you want to press Add.

Sticks Configuration:
The far-left column has
(Actions definitions).
For stick binding:

The "Horizontal" and "Vertical" options automatically
apply the opposite direction of what you pressed.
Press "Horizontal" then move the stick you wish to use for walking.
Again, move one direction, and it will apply the other: Left or Right (X-axis).
Do the same for "Vertical." Up or down (Y-axis). For the same stick."

(Being right-handed, I use left stick for side-scroll games).

Below those two Actions definitions:
(Horizontal: "move right, move left". (X-axis)
Vertical: has Down/Crouch, and Up.) (Y-axis)
Same as before, but you're binding each individually.
If wanting to be thorough.

Inverting Sticks:

These should be set correctly already.
Recycle symbol inverts a stick.
Avoid inverting the X-axis; it will cause unwanted movement.
Example- press walk left, but it will move right instead.
Same with Invert the Y-axis. But up or crouch movements will reverse.
Rarely will need to use this. Unless your controller is all backwards.

Settings Tabs:
Above the Actions column, are.
Settings 1 and Settings 2 tabs.
Has more Actions to assign. Ex. Use Orb (hold).

Double Actions:

You can assign different actions to the same button.
Example: Utility + Use Orb (Hold).
When prompted, instead of selecting Replace.
Choose "ADD" instead.

Button Suggestions:

Some of these need to be bound to the same button.
In those cases, look for the Add option to appear.
Dash = Left Trigger.
Jump: Right bumper.
Roll: Left bumper.
Range attack (shoot): Right trigger.
Reload = A
Throw bomb/turret: B.
Hit Melee: X.
Drone ability: ? Unsure.
Utility ability: A (Pick up stuff).
Use Skill L = Y (Faction Abilities)
Orb Change: Use D-pad right or start button.
Use Orb (Hold) "add" A.
Map: Right stick button (If available at location).
Game Menu: Left stick button.
Inventory = "select/back".
Perry: Maybe, Down D-Pad.

Changing abilities/utilities:

Use D-pad or experiment with the right stick for
selecting or whatever stick is being used for drone movement.
(If it's possible to not use in-game.)

Unused Buttons:
Consider putting less used stuff to Left Trigger or Left Bumper.
Or stick buttons. Or whatever you don't like typically pressing.
You could change whatever is for select or start buttons to stick buttons,
if it's easier to press the select and start for often used stuff.

Game-play Options:

Set "run-always-active" for continuous running.
You might need to adjust dead zones if you have stick drift.

Trial and Error:
May take a few tries.
Press "Restore Defaults" to try again.

Bugs:
Sometimes controller buttons won't respond in Controller menu.
Unsure of the exact cause.
Can move the mouse and activate the spaces for controller assignment.
I tried Restore Default seems to fix it. Or restart game.
Then you have to rebind everything. Unsure of another work around.
--------------------------------
If you really want a lot of customization,
you could use reWASD software.
If this is not set correctly, it could conflict with games.

For keyboard and controllers.
