There is an issue where the game run refuses to load properly and will become unplayable after :
1. You exit then reload the game later while having a hero or multiple heroes transmuted in your party.
To fix or prevent this from occurring:
1. Use a signature inn item to revert your heroes back to their "normal" selves.
2. Click on Select Route.
3. Click on a location.
4. Then you can exit your game to Main Menu or Desktop and continue journey later on safely. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want the names to load of the characters you transmute into?
1. Go into the character sheet.
2. Click on the pencil where you see the name at the top of the character sheet.
3. Go to a different hero or exit the character sheet.
4. Load the character sheet of the transmuted hero.

Hello! I'm leaving this comment as a bug report: I've launched 2 games using the mod, and both times I got locked into an infinite loading screen. Granted the first time there were conflicting files, but the second time I downloaded this mod and made sure to replace the files with the correct ones, however, the same problem happened again.
Is it maybe because of the last update? Or maybe it's just a conflict of files ? If anyone can help me out I'd be very grateful.
And so, after some trial runs, I can identify a number of problems that are quite critical. I want to say thank you in advance because the mod is really very good in the future. And so the problems: - the inability to get items, trinkets, tavern items and combat. - Very frequent departures, I can barely launch a game with a mod, let alone go through a whole race. There are a few more problems, but they are not so serious. To be honest, I would like to suggest that these monsters become separate game characters, (as in the mod for the bounty hunter) and they were not obtained through transformation. I'm not sure I understand completely with what you mean by the inability to get items, trinkets, tavern items, and combat. Are you suggesting that there should be new items of those types?
I don't know what you mean by frequent departures. Are you saying that the game is not launching properly after you try to reload it when using this mod? If so, have you read about the fix in this posts section?
I have thought about this since the year 2021. I could be wrong but I imagine that making monsters completely separate game characters (similar to the bounty hunter or the other heroes) would cause them to be perma-heroes with the game's current development stage. New codes would also have to be written. Maybe somehow creating dupes of the monsters to have hero versions could be a possibility. Even so, still new lines of code would need to be created with more than one tool. Once again, I could be wrong.

Thank you for your prompt reply. No need to apologize; you didn't do anything wrong. I will run a few tests in-game with the most recent mod version and see if I can duplicate the error. I will follow-up accordingly.

Everything is running normally and as should for me with this mod. Are you using any other mods besides this one?
1. Ensure that you did not overwrite any of this mods files. 2. Ensure that all of this mods files are inside of the proper directory. 3. Try starting a new run. 4. If all else fails, uninstall Darkest Dungeon II. 4. Install Darkest Dungeon II. 5. Install this mod by itself first. (Latest update). 6. Start up a new run. 7. Notice the changes in-game.
Transmuting into the monsters shown in the images were for the earlier builds of DD2. The newest update for this mod will only let you transmute into Prisoner Dismas for testing purposes.
I will add more to this mod with the newest DD2 updates as much as I am able to. Thank you for your patience.
ok, I need someone to hold my hand for this, how the hell do I do the installation and actually "transmute" the hero, I'm very new to this so give me directions like I'm a moron.
Hello. Simply drop the files in the appropriate directory per the file structure. With this current version, use a move within battle with Dismas to transmute. The move sets will tell you if there will be a change or not. Once you do so, you play the rest of the game with that character until you start a new run.
I am not sure what is causing some of the sfx conflicts. It seems that when transmuting especially into monsters, the sound dissipates for them. I will need to complete further tests on this mod and perhaps I will be able to determine the actual cause.
All i'm waiting - that brutal sound of ripost on big Fallen knight guy, its really badass :D BTW nice mod and idea, without any updates from Hooks game really becomes boring

If you did this mod, I guess you know how to modify the game to add/change a hero in the "Crossroads". Now with the new patch, would you be able to add the Bounty Hunter as an elegible hero?
Adding the Bounty Hunter as an eligible hero at the Crossroads I believe would require an even more in-depth complication of the game coding and possibly using other tools. The accessible tool I am thinking of is unable to modify the way this is needed or so it seems. Chogex would be more suitable to do such a task I think. I could be wrong...maybe. Albeit, I have found that I can make the bounty hunter playable all the way through without having to hire him.
Thank you. Ahh yes. The Shambler is coded to take up two spaces. Thusly, if you have all four heroes and transmute into the Shambler, someone is getting pushed into the fifth rank. The movesets for the Shambler would have to be modified and coded properly to transmute back into a hero.
Try checking the hero updated skills within the Shambler movesets ;).
Cool mod. I've always wanted to play as the enemies! I have a question, when will there be updates? Oh, yes, I still want to hear cool sound effects of skills from monsters ;)
Edit: by the way, should it be that monsters don't have inventory, quirks and descriptions of abilities, as well as HP parameters, speed, and resistances?
Please ensure that nothing is overwriting this mod. Simply drag and drop the file from the winrar and let it overwrite everything it is asking. Updates are planned but there is no eta at this moment.
Edit: It may be possible for monsters to not have inventory, quirks, descriptions of abilities, and other parameters. Right now, monsters primarily have what the heroes do minus stress factors.
This was used on earlier builds of the game. Updates can cause breaks which would mean that the mod would need to be updated as well. If the mod is updated and something doesn't work or localize properly, then it is intended from the developers that they don't want such to happen or other.

How do you change back to normal though? I got stuck as the Shambler and it pushed one of my heroes into the 5th rank.
Try checking the hero updated skills within the Shambler movesets ;).
