Vanguard Frontliner: full rework for the Musketeer

A complete change from scratch was made to provide a new flavor to this class. The old version of the musketeer was simply a re-skin of the arbalest and that was kinda unpleasant, so I decided to provide huge changes in her playstyle in order to make her unique from the rest of the cast.

This mod requires the (free) Musketeer DLC


A complete change from scratch was made to provide a new flavor to this class. The old version of the musketeer was simply a re-skin of the arbalest and that was kinda unpleasant, so I decided to provide huge changes in her playstyle in order to make her unique from the rest of the cast.


Changes made
  • Mechanically changed from standart to mode-based class (similar to the abomination)
  • All skills were reworked
  • Base stats were re-adjusted
  • Some sprites, fx and sounds were changed in order to fit the new changes
  • Some trinkets buffs were re-adjusted (minor changes)

Skill requeriment: ★★☆☆☆
Pro: various tools for dealing dmg, stun, stress healing and guarded
Con: requires some gamesense about taking risk. Squishy frontliner

Power potential: ★★☆☆☆
Pro: Burst damage with high crit if waited enough. Defensive strats are quite strong with her
Con: Slow inniaciative. Spikes on performance.

Sustain capacities: ★★☆☆☆
Pro: Force guarding and can self heal/stress heal
Con: Small HP pool. Self heal is inconsistent or slow.

RNG depency: ★★★★☆
Pro: Waiting enough can mitigate her RNG. Support skills are pretty consistent
Con: ACC and CRIT dependient. AI dependient.

Risk: ★★★★☆
Pro: Can be guarded the whole battle if wanted.
Con: normally risk herself which can cause dangerous situations

Playstyle overview
The Vanguard Musketeer is a powerful but risky frontliner who requires the help from tanks in order to provide her utility correctly

Her main role synergies with big HP allies who receives all damage instead the musketeer, who will wait (or take the risk) until she can perform her massive damage with her musket.
The musketeer can switch within her two modes (Auxiliar / Vanguard) to changes the effect of which skills you equipped her, thus how active/passive she becomes based in which way you're using those modes.

Be careful using this unit, since her positioning force using her in the frontline for effectiveness which, added to her low HP, can create risky situations for your group.


The musketeer loves groups which can play more defensively.

Skills:

Vanguard
The central pilar in the Musketeer's Kit. Its main purpose is to switch within modes (like the abominations). Allows using skills with (V) in their names and the secondary effect of the rest's kit.

  • Switchs to Vanguard mode
  • Force target to guard the Musketeer until she shoots her musket or use Vanguard once more
  • Provides stun rest. (target)
  • Provides ++ACC/++CRIT/++DMG (until the combat ends or the Musketeer shots her musket)
  • Provides --ACC/--CRIT/--DMG (2-3 rounds)
  • Provides Damage reflection until removed Guard(target & self)
(damage received will be reflected to performing enemy)

  • Switchs to Auxiliar mode
  • Stress heal target
  • Self heals
  • Auto-use after battle





(V) Open Fire!
The musketeer opens fire aiming to weak points. This skills could require some time to use since musket are imprecise weaponry.

Army Discipline
The musketeer will tranquilize her group using moral speeches.

  • Assignated target will be not stress healed

  • Stress heal target
  • Provides stress rest. buff based if targets is guarding or guarded

  • Buff will be removed if the target is neither guarding nor guarded




Quick draw
The musketeer pulls out quickly her pistol in order to surprise her enemies with an unexpected shot.

The musketeer creates a distraction which force the enemy's backline running off-position.

Phalanx Formation
The musketeer encourages her group in order to perform more defensively.

  • Buff Reflection damage (damage received will be reflected to performing enemy)
  • Debuff target with +DMG received





(V) Cover Fire
The musketeer fires with all she has so lucky she can hits something.

CRIT buff effect:
  • Heals self small amount
  • Increases ++SPD until next round



Passives:
  • Skillful (5): The musketeer can use 5 skills at once (since Vanguard is an obligatory skill to be equiped, one additional skill can be equiped additionally if desired)
  • Off Guard: After shooting her musket, the musketeer will lose her guarding
  • Auxiliar aura: Auxiliar skills will provide +heal amount buff to the group backline




Troubleshooting
This mod changes everything with the Musketeer, so the transition for old musketeer could come with some problems. Re-starting the game should fix this problems.
All skill will be locked again since her new skills doesn't share the same ID than old skills (must be unlocked again in the Guild)

- This mod isn't compatible with others mods which changes the musketeer class. If those mods are necessary for your playthrough netherway, is recommendable using this mod in higher priority levels.
