Just a little mod I made for personal use. I decided to upload it in case anyone else wants to spice their quirks up a bit.

 I found that, after a few playthroughs, my heroes all started blurring together. There was nothing memorable that was intrinsic to them - the gear is just numbers and quirks rarely have any impact on gameplay. Realizing that I wanted more meat on my quirks, I started poking around in the files and this is what I came up with.

This mod simply amplifies the effect of quirks, both positive and negative. To be more specific, effects of combat perks have been tripled. Non-combat perks and perks I found uninteresting were amplified even more - your warrens expert now is an actual expert on the warrens.

Overall, the goal is to make quirks feel meaningful and, by extension, make heroes feel like they have more of a personality. Your irrepressible crusader is now unlikely to crack under pressure, and that sluggish flagellant is really sluggish.

The gameplay implications should be fairly obvious - it is now possible to get very lucky, and very unlucky. The Sanitarium will be more important, both to remove negative quirks and lock in positive ones. It potentially opens up more avenues for powergaming, but keep in mind this is a modmod for Pitch Black Dungeon - gold is not an infinite resource.

This mod effects only one file: base.buffs.json. Make a backup of the base.buffs.json in your Pitch Black Dungeon/shared/buffs folder, then drop my file in and let it override. When you load your savegame (which this will not break), the quirk changes will have already applied to all heroes - both new and existing. To uninstall, just override my file with the backup you made.

There are a lot of quirks in the file, and the naming scheme doesn't always make sense. If you encounter a quirk that seems like it wasn't changed, please make a report here on the nexus so I can make this quirk overhaul as comprehensive as possible. If any of my changes break the game, let me know that too of course.
