The afflicted sprite and probably the heroic one as well don't work properly because the arrangement of the sprite art isn't correct. To see this, look at a vanilla skin of the abomination (like Abomination_A) then look at the ones in this the mod.
I haven't tested it yet, but I corrected them both in GIMP by resizing (exactly 50% smaller) and copying the modded abomination sprite over the abomination in the vanilla afflicted/heroic sprite images, then erasing the abomination sprite beneath it. In practice this has worked for correcting other custom skins I've downloaded.
It only took me like 5 minutes to fix, but if you want the sprite images I edited, here's the direct link to them that I tried getting on the mod page's user images, but haven't been probably since the mod author hasn't been around to give approval for them.
