Don't miss out on this one. It really amps up the atmosphere in dungeons. With appropriately dark ambient light settings, entering a dungeon and looking back at the light of day (or night) receding in the distance, or stumbling across the pool of light after wandering a dungeon for several days looking for the exit... It's just so good.
Also makes the exit door stand out very well even when viewing the wall at oblique angles. All in all, a huge upgrade from the plain wall texture of the vanilla exit.
This is really nice looking mod which has a built in compatibility with Vanilla, DREAM & DREAM 90s - all executed in a very user friendly manner.
It improves the looks of the Exits considerably and in a way it fits the game seamlessly. As it looks better than what is currently implemented in Dream, it goes straight into the recommended mods sections for both Dream versions.
If only more mods were created in this way! Thank you! :)
There are two labeled as Linux in the downloads. I'm guessing one is a mis-labeled macOS version? I would like to grab the right one, but idk which is which lol
Did you try loading Red Brick Replacer after Parallax Dungeon Doors? I can see it's not working when it's loaded before PDD, but I have no save game at hand to check if the red doors still get replaced, when I change the order.
Both mods do function correctly when PDD is first, thanks. Given the nature of the conflict, I thought loading PDD later should fix it, not the other round 😖
This is easily one of the highest quality mods I have seen for this game. The level of detail and craftsmanship here is phenomenal and goes a long way to add some rich flavor and ambience to dungeon exits. Such a small change, yet it has a really big impact. Kudos to you, Excoriated, I look forward to whatever you make next.
just starting a new playthrough of daggerfall after a long time, and pairing this with 90's dream... this door genuinely made me gasp it's one of the coolest things ive ever seen. genuinely this door looks wonderful pictures dont do it justice when you see it in game omg. thank you so much for this mod! i will never be able to play again without this mod it's a very magical touch :)
This unfortunately cannot overwrite the door replacers from Pure Vanilla Extract (PVE) regardless of this mods placement, and i doubt the og modder will make a return to make a compatibility update.
The brief peek i took at this though, it looked really hekkin cool. Keep up the good work :D
Yeah, I wouldn't use PVE: "Causes visual bugs due to missing textures, particularly on Linux/Mac.May cause black screen on Linux/Mac or combined with other texture mods. Consider Vanilla Enhanced or DREAM instead."
I prefer Vanilla Enhanced over this.
You can install Mod Issue checker or use the Tampermonkey script for Browsers mentioned on the Mod Issue Checker page, to directly see these issues on the mod pages.
Im on windows so maybe thats why i havent had any issue with it yet. I didnt know about vanilla enhanced though. I'll have to look into it. I didnt like dream cause it does everything up, and it just feels like its got its own different thing going on with it. Ill give VE a good oogle tho :D
Im also looking into that mod issue checker thing as well. Im using MO2, so hopefully i can get it all sorted out :P
And ye :D Its really good stuff you gots here :D Hopefully i can make this all work out properly. Im assuming if i can get VE working, i'll need to load this after or something?
Best is to add it as high as possible in the load order to make it load first, since the mod is searching for the vanilla door texture.
The Mod Issue Checker will check for issues MO2 will probably not find, there are some issues that will corrupt your save file when you save inside interiors.
okidoo. Ill set it high then. I figured itd be as low, since its overwriting. Makes sense that itd need nilla doors tho P:
And ye. I know MO2 wont catch much of anything other than texture overwrites and such, since it doesnt properly plug into the .dfmod files like it does the ESM and ESP/ESLs of the more modern era (tho even then, youll need xedit to really see most of the problems). My concern was more just whether or not it the mod checker would work with an MO2 setup, but i got it working just fine :D And ye, supposedly RMB causes problems, tho i havent had much issue with that yet myself. If it becomes too big of an issue, i'll just prune and be happy with what i got P:
Great mod! For some reason 1 of the 2 main gates of Castle Sentinel still looks like the original dungeon door. I don't mind it tho', but just wanted to let you guys know
thanks for the report. It's because I was assuming there is only one Dungeon Exit per dungeon, but yeah, I totally forgot that Sentinel has two (Palaces are dungeons as well in Daggerfall).
I will fix it in a couple of days and upload a new version.

Thank you! :)
Edit: Nexus always takes some time to update stuff though
Edit: Changing the "Replace Red Brick Texture" option to Off in RBR ameliorates the issue, though leaves RBR to only affect independent teleporters
