Tried it a bit but infortunately i'm unable to make it fit in camera shake of Better ambience while walking and running (whatever latency I try one of the modes goes off sync with shaking). I have extra fast speed with about 270 skill points in running by enchanted items. Otherwise by itself the mod is solid.
Just coming back to say I have walked the dungeons, the soft, soothing sound of my flipflops echoing through corridors in harmony with Better Ambience.
I'm a better ambience user and haven't played yours yet, but reading the description and watching the vid one suggestion I'd make is that you include a slider for metal clunky armour sounds, just like better ambience does - I have found that if that thing is just a tad too laud relative to regular baseline footsteps, it becomes very annoying and just too much as you move around after a while. Note: I'm not referring to armour as such, but rather to whatever metalic armour-like sounds you get from the FOOTSTEPS based on the footwear you have on.
There is a volume multiplier setting for the footsteps yes, you can't currently specify which ones to change the volume on though, the settings effects all footsteps. But maybe I'll consider something like that in the future, or being able to toggle certain ones if they are too annoying for some, will see eventually I guess.
Coolio. On a side note I wanted to pitch you a little idea for the future.
It would be so cool if there was some kind of a value check for your 'social stealth' / 'conspicuousness' when in towns and regions where you're considered a scoundrel and guards will attack on sight.
It's immersive and great fun to see villagers run from you and guards come attacking when you're spotted (like when playing using 'villagers reactions') but as far as I know there's no way to actually counter being spotted, such as by rolls for stealth + personality or based on what you're wearing and what time of day it is or a combination of those things.
Definitely haven't really thought of anything like that, probably better to pitch that to the author of villager reactions honestly, since it is somewhat close to what they have already done. But I'll keep it on my long list, lol.
Thanks I love the variety in footsteps in games! I love that we can customise the frequency too. My only suggestion is to make the barefoot sounds louder because they are really quiet compared to boots. Also I think bare doesn't have any sounds for wooden and snow surfaces but stone/metal surfaces are fine.
Glad you like it so far. When I was testing the barefoot didn't really sound any quieter than most of the other sounds, atleast for my ears using ear-buds.

Better error and exception handling has been implemented
All is well, great mod, many thanks :)
And yeah, barefoot does sound a bit like sandals, lol.
can other humanoids receive movement sounds?
appreciate itd get overwheming in towns but would be zesty in dungeons.

That will be for a different mod entirely, specifically Physical Combat Overhaul when I get to updating that.
