this mod is fun i walked out of dagger city and got bombarded with messages saying stuff like archer just died, bear just died, centuor just died etc this is so much chaos 1000/10
Seems unlikely this mod will be updated. If you really want to try it, but are put off by the various bug reports, can I recommend Advanced Wilderness Encounters available HERE... it's largely based on this mod but with various errors fixed, excesses toned down, and the range of encounter types massively increased. It adds variation between night and day encounters as well as varying some encounters according to the climate base of the wilds you're in, i.e. whether you're in a desert, mountain, swamp or temperate location. It is also fully compatible with the Daggerfall Enemy Expansion mod, unlike this one.
I've seen a lot about how the enemies would spawn in caves and too frequently. THERE ARE SETTINGS TO CHANGE THIS. However, knowing what type of distance like pixels, in game feet, meters, yards i just can't gauge how far or close I'm putting them. As for now I'm not adding it now for fear of breaking my game. Please update this
A warning for anyone who downloads this mod: I know it sounds fun, but it has been the cause of many bug reports, including preventing rest in dungeons at any time and massive overspawning of enemies, even when the settings are properly configured.
This has quickly become a favorite of mine, I really love stumbling into epic battles covering an entire mountain side. Anyone who suffers fatigue quickly from too much dungeon crawling should really check this out. If you've got a character who's any good at combat, it offers an alternative way to gather your riches. Simply battle your way to fame and fortune!
It would be nice if travel options would let you simply keep going in accelerated time so we didn't have to dial down the encounters so much. Some might call that a cheat, but I think it's the opposite. Currently, there's nothing stopping a weak, low level adventurer from coming into a battle and hiding behind the good guys to scavenge bodies for pricey loot they didn't earn. Myself, trotting along at 5x and seeing a big battle going on would usually be more than enough reason for me to slow down and join in. Then again, maybe I've got business elsewhere and don't want to be stopped in my tracks for a fight happening down the hill from me and in no way is an immediate threat.
Anyone have recommended settings for using this with travel options? Iv managed to get the spawn rate down to a manageable cluster f*#@ (6-8 for max amount of groups seems good for a battle) but they just spawn way too often i was just wanting something to supplement the other random encounter mods i have that to me are too infrequent or just like 5 rats or something
Holy crap! This is great and brings life to the wilds of this massive land. Gone are the days of fast travel for this Wood-elf Ranger! This is a gift, thank you.
