I wonder if it'd be possible for a mod like this for the various farmsteads and stuff? Sometimes you get a quest to go to (for example) "The Rlissten Farmstead" and find "The Kingston Residence" within it, but there's only one building, you'd assume the building within would be named the Rlissten Residence or something. Or would it be too difficult to name the buildings for those types of situations because the house name only gets generated when it is needed for a quest? Not sure what it looks like behind the scenes.
Residences don't have unique names like taverns do so unfortunately this can't be done. Fortunately it's not immersion-breaking like the mismatched tavern names were. You go to a location named The Kingston Residence and there will be a building named Residence.
You go to a location named The Kingston Residence and there will be a building named Residence.
...Which, if you've been sent there by a quest, will have been (temporarily) renamed to The [randomly-chosen, region-appropriate surname] Residence (almost certainly a different name than that of the map location, like in RenoSharkClub's example). Which, I agree, is just as immersion-breaking as the naming discrepancy in the "tavern hamlets". But if fixing it is beyond the scope of a mod, that's understandable. (And, honestly, minor stuff like this doesn't even faze me after 25+ years playing Daggerfall. :) )
I don't think it's beyond the scope, I just think it's not technically possible because (I believe) residences get random rather than deterministic names. But I might look into it at some point.
I checked in with a DFU developer and unfortunately, right now the travel map directly searches the Daggerfall game files and this behavior can't be overwritten by mods yet. He's offered to look into this issue after DFU 1.0 is released, which should be fairly soon.
In the meantime, Players, please be aware of this issue.
This just can't be happening. This mod does not change buildings or any information inside settlements and locations. All it does is rename them on the map.
I don't know. What happens when you load it up? If it doesn't work, I'll be happy to provide the location files so anyone can make a localized version.
Ok, I suspect this is caused by the same behavior discussed in the other thread. We'll look into fixing it after DFU 1.0 is released. It will likely require a PR to the game itself.

But I can find it by its old name "The Gold Dragon Tavern"

Guess I should wander more often. Thanks guys!
