About this mod
This mod adds gift offers from commoners and nobles to the quest pool. As you talk to each NPC from those regional factions, there's a small chance that one of them will be an admirer of the player character's deeds. The chance of a gift offer depends on factional reputation.

So, you completed a dozen quests for the good people of (insert region name here), but unlike the guilds, temples and knightly orders, the player character's reputation with commoners and nobles doesn't make much of a difference to role playing. Wouldn't it be nice if you were treated like a renowned adventurer for a change?
This mod uses the game's quest system to add gift offers from commoners and nobles. As you talk to each NPC from those regional factions, there's a small chance that one of them will be an admirer of the player character's deeds. The higher the player's reputation with that specific faction, the higher the chance of receiving a gift offer.
However, the reputation will go down slightly each time that the player accepts a gift offer. This is designed to discourage players from 'farming' NPCs for free stuff.

How many quests do I have to complete to start getting free stuff?
There are no guarantees. You need to complete at least ten quests without fail for a specific regional faction to have any chance of a gift offer from NPCs of that faction. These gift offers are intended to be pleasant surprises that the player encounters occasionally, so the chance will always be small, even at the highest reputation.
What do you mean by a regional faction?
Each region in the game (e.g. Wayrest, Sentinel, Daggerfall, Dwynnen, etc.) has two regional factions: the People and the Court. The People faction are also known as the commoners or the peasants: they are the majority of NPCs in the game; you will see them walking around the streets and standing in taverns. The Court faction is the aristocracy, also known as the nobles: you will see them in the palaces.
Does this have anything to do with reputation "in the eyes of the law?"
No. The character's legal reputation is ignored in this mod. It's possible to be loved by commoners and hated by law enforcement, like the legend of Robin Hood. The Court faction is not the court of law: it refers specifically to the aristocracy, who are politically 'above the law' to some extent. There are quite a few "noble" quests in the game that involve smuggling contraband.
How do I know what my reputation is?
Unfortunately, the game doesn't provide a specific indication of your character's reputation apart from the guilds, temples or knightly orders that you have joined. You would need to install another mod, like The Penwick Papers, to access an approximation of your reputation with commoners and nobles. They need to be fond of you at the very least.
So, what's the point of this mod, then?
To broaden the variety of goals that the players can set for themselves. Daggerfall Unity is an open world: for example, you can ignore the main story quest and focus on attaining the highest rank of a guild instead. Installing this mod will add another reward system, so players can also focus on becoming a celebrated adventurer among the common people or the aristocracy or both. I hope you have fun either way. :)
