This works with graphics mods, but you're going to have a goofy vanilla cage replace whatever better one you have. A birdcage will suddenly turn into a giant podium after you open it
Using this with DREAM seems to cause some unusual effects. Namely the cages transform into a broken version of the old graphic sprite. Still, it's better than having a trapped quest target.
They just open. I could put a lock or have it open with a spell but at the end of the day if all that fails then players would just teleport out with console commands.
Personally I would appreciate the option for lockpicking / casting open / smashing down the door to the cage, usually the third one works eventually even if the other two fail unless the lock is magically held. I feel like it'd be more immersive than all the cages just being unlocked.
The latest update states "Added Lockpicking and Bashing (Bashing requires you to check the cage)" in the change log ... so this has now been added, though I personally haven't had a chance to test it yet.
Works pretty well, has that lockpick success sound too!
Only thing, I haven't tried with a vanilla setup (or Lockpick skill under 100 [some of my items push it to 105 atm while I'm under 100 without items {might be an irrelevant detail in the end and I'm overthinking it}]) and so far it seems picking cage locks doesn't raise Lockpicking skill.
Good idea. Though I think it would be even better if they could have locks to either pick, force or spell open. This would also add both balance and immersion to fixing the cage issue. :)
THANK YOU one time i was told to go and kill this one guy. I find the room he's in THE DOOR WAS BLOCKED BY A CAGE!!! i was like "HOW DO I GET IN THERE" and there were tigers everywhere trying to attack me. Mow i can beat that guy up!

Any mods you know of that conflict with it?
Any dungeon enhancement mods that mess with it?
I have some dungeon loot enhancing mods, which add lootable containers.
