Hey MizterMoonshine! I don't know if you regularly roam these halls, but I just wanted to let you know that this FANTASTIC mod seems to conflict with Drafty Secret Doors, not in a "breaks the game" kind of way, but in a "can't hear the drafties anymore" The mod basically adds in a wind whistling sound when near a secret door. I changed the load order and tweaked volume, but to no avail. I have no idea what sound file that mod uses and if your mod replaces it somehow. Anyway, I know you can basically see secret doors in the map, but it was a nice roleplay and immersive way to find secret doors.

If anybody else knows a solution, it is welcome too. Otherwise thanks for the fantastic mod. I have Better Ambiance installed as well (Not the Environmental Ambiance once, because I'm a sucker for Daggerfall's music and I have the overhaul installed anyway) I gotta say though, the new Daggerfall theme absolutely floored me! Thanks again!

I wouldn't be able to fix it without knowing which sound file Drafty Secret Doors uses.

Was this ever addressed? I can't play without Drafty but these sounds are incredible.

I dont know if you still need an answer, but just go to the "sound" folder inside the zip archive and delete all the AmbientWind sounds (AmbientWindBlow1, 1a, 1b, and AmbientWindMoan, 2, Deep), drafty doors works with everything else, just one of those messes it up. Hope this helps

Don't know if this is still a problem, but Drafty Secret Doors uses AmbientWindBlow1b ... don't know why replacing that sound file would cause problems coz you're just replacing one wav file with another, but if it does, try deleting the AmbientWindBlow1b replacement and see if it helps.

How did you display your characters head on the side like that? Is that a mod?

That's someone you're traveling with to protect, it's a vanilla escort quest feature.

Ahh ok, I thought it was something like the DOOM UI where you can see your char's face.

If you want something like that, you can use Large HUD (disable fullscreen in the pause menu, not in the launcher), or you can use the Retro Frame mod. There aren't various faces for it, like Doom, though, just your static selected face.

Can you change the fist and boot sounds to sound more like y'know, you're using fists and boots. It sounds awful imo, esp since I'm gonna be maining them for my playthrough.

Not possible. They use the default weapon strike sound in the vanilla game. I assume it would require some kind of scripted mod to fix, which is unfortunately beyond my talents.

Phenomenal work man, well done! There wasn't a single sound that seemed out of place or something I didn't like, and a lot of sounds still retain their recognizable feel from the original. The only thing I'm noticing is that I'm hearing wrong pain sounds for the race I've chosen? Like, if I play as a female Nord, I hear a mix of Redguard/Breton sounds instead, not sure why.

I'm not sure what the issue could be, maybe I named the files wrong and nobody ever reported it lol. You can check them yourself, they're just called Race/Gender.wav. Could be I mixed up the female Nord ones. Sorry I don't have DFU installed anymore to check.

Also, could be I just got lazy and decided to copy over the female Redguard/Breton voices for the female Nords. I remember it was difficult trying to source audio files for all the different race grunts.

Thing is, it seems to be totally in order in the files (hard to say though without seeing filenames for files they replace), but thing is that in-game it's not played correctly for some reason, hence my confusion. As a test I went and created a female Wood Elf, her first grunt played correctly, and the rest were someone else's. Just weirdness all around, might not be even your fault.

I've honestly no idea what's going on there. Were the incorrect sounds good quality? As in, were the sounds from this mod or vanilla Daggerfall?

If we use Dream should we disable it's sound module?

Loose files like this mod are given priority by the game, if I remember right. So it shouldn't matter.

Hi! Love the mod, I was wondering if you could help me how to replace some sounds? Basically I want change some of the "bark" and "move" sounds for the mobs with sound from other sites. I downloaded sounds from Freesound, in waw format and which replaced the orignial file but there was no sound? I checked the volume of the sound and it was similar to the other sounds of yours.

    Would really really appreciate it

I don't know if it's international, but a lot of humanoid mobs like atronachs and zombies have human "pain" sounds which is really non-immersive

Edit: Nevermind i'm dumb, it's actually my characters voice lol.

Very very good stuff! My only complaint is fists making weapon sounds.

Thank you. That is a limitation of Daggerfall's audio, fists use weapon sounds in the vanilla game.
