    would you consider supporting auto-recast for spells that require a target?  the way Macadaynu's Hotkey Bar does:

    "hotkey activate (activate ...) abort" instead of
    "hotkey activate (recast activate ...)"

    if we cast only once, this method requires an extra key press to abort.  if we cast twice, the abort and recast cancel out.  each cast after the second requires one fewer key press.  and if we switch to another spell, the abort is implicit.

    your mod handles use/equip better, and the item health bar is lovely.  i would really like to switch to this mod, but my mage characters are lazy and fussy~

    hi! thank you for this mod! 
    it would be great to have an opportunity to change size, position and background of hotkey panel. also would be cool to see both hotkey panel and equipped spell

      I replaced the uploaded file with a zip that contains a "Mods" folder with the mod inside. I don't use Vortex myself but hopefully this will make it compatible.

    When using with Retro-Frame, it places backdrop over the right side frame, but not the left, creating an inconsistent interface feel.

    Bug report, but not about the mod, rather about the download page.

    This is marked as "Save Game" which is a category I have blocked. I don't want to see a whole bunch of save games. I didn't know this mod existed until today.

    That tag should probably be removed. This isn't a "Save Game"

    Good mod, but I noticed tiny issue while tested it: item icons on quick slots are too small. Maybe it's somehow related to display resolution (I'm using 4k).

      They're probably not scaling right with the resolution. I'll look into that.

    Great mod. Except I now get this message whenever I start a new game that says "Failed to save mod data for 'Hot Key HUD', Check log for errors. 
    It's really annoying me haha. I tried deleting every file in my SAVEO1 02 03 's. But evertime it says this. Is there anything that can be done. Is this normal?

    I looked in the player log and there is no error or anything about fail or hoy key hud.

      That's odd, I'm trying to reproduce the problem on my end but no luck. Are you using DFU 1.1.1? I ought to update the mod info to say that's the DFU version since that's what I'm using to build it.

      Same here.. not sure what went wrong updated game to latest version. Reinstalled mods. Getting this error and HUD no longer works.
      Luckily I had backup of previous version still works with hot key mod.

      I will play previous version for now having hot keys makes things easier :)

      I'm getting this issue as well. It was working perfectly fine, but now whenever I load up my save I get the Hot Key HUD error. Any pre-saved Hotkeys i had work, but I can't use the key to open up the menu to add more. I've tried putting Hot Key HUD at the bottom of my load order, and that didn't matter.



      I assume the "log" is Player.log in the DFU LocalLow folder? This is what is says anyway:
      DFTFU 1.9.2: Failed to save mod data for `Hot Key HUD`. Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

      Thanks for the bug report. The log message helped a lot. I uploaded a new version that hopefully resolves the issue. It's working for me but I wasn't previously able to replicate it on my end. To anyone reading, please let me know if the latest one still shows an error message.

    It's unrelated to the actual mod, but are the textures on the screenshots vanilla? I love how the game looks in your screenshots and I'd like mine to look the same.

      Yep, it's vanilla with retro mode settings enabled. You can modify them by pressing escape ingame, clicking the button in the top left, and clicking effect settings. I have "mode" set to 320x200 and "Aspect Ratio Correction" set to 4:3. I also have all the other stuff disabled there.

    Awesome mod! On thing I'm not a fan of is Unity doing away with the classic interface. This helps bring back some of that.
