Hello, I have missing textures with this mod on the latest DFU Mac beta release. Windmills are transparent pink except for the door. I am running DREAM and almost all of the other recommended mods and recommended settings from KoW's latest DREAM mod instructions, and I have tried moving Windmills V2 to the top and bottom of the mod list with no luck.

Ok, I've done some more testing with this and I can't get it to work on macOS even if it is the only mod loaded. Looking at the manifest from v1, I'm thinking that there's maybe an issue with the syntax or case of file paths on unix OSes. Has anyone else tried this on Mac or Linux and had a similar issue?

Thats most likely because this mod (Windmills) does not have other versions than for Windows for some reason.
DREAM does not interfere with Windmills, because the windmills use the original textures. There is no texture swap for Dream HD ones.
The solution is to make the Windmills Mac/Linux releases. Otherwise, its a no go for other systems than Windows sadly.

Strange, I usually include a Mac version with my releases with custom assets. I'll create a Mac version here soon after the new Warm Ashes version is released.

Just piling on that as of December 2023, this mod still does not work for MacOS

Using Windmills V2 - Think I found a bug/conflict. I was doing the Mobile Apothecary quest out of the Temple of Stendarr in Midwell, Anticlere. Was instructed to go to the Masterham Residence at Kinghouse Orchard. When I arrived at Kinghouse, there was only one house, not labeled as the Masterham Residence, and a windmill. Upon questioning the NPCs in the area, they pointed at the unnamed house as the location of my contact; my contact was not in the house. As it turns out, my contact was found, instead, inside the windmill.

I just got a similar instance of this bug. Sent to find the "Ashly Residence" in a home with a windmill. Asked for directions, marked on map, it slapped the name right in the middle of nowhere. Started disabling other mods that I thought could've been causing the problem before landing on Windmills of Daggerfall. Turns out the Ashly Residence...Was the windmill :P

Can confirm - if a quest points you to a place where there is a windmill, the quest NPC will be in the windmill instead of the residence where they should be (and where other NPCs point you).

There is a issue where windmill spawns into buildings from the Cities Overhaul mod, such as a windmill is midway inside watchtower. I've also seen instances of the windmills "blades" going through buildings. Nothing severe but something to mention

Well, the windmills are there, but I guess the model need some improvement at least for the blades.

you can fast travel to farms by simply typing in "farm" on the fast travel map - it will then show you a selection of farms to choose from

Hi I'm new to Daggerfall and just wondering what did you mean by adding windmills "back" to Daggerfall? Did windmills exist in the original game but were removed from unity? Thanks and nice mod

The files for windmills were found in the original game, but it was never implemented back in the 1996 release. Most likely due to the time constraints or performance issues etc. So now this idea is fully realized with this mod and DFU. Theres more content like this, which we found in the game, yet it was not implemented in the original release. Its slowly getting back in the game.

"Windmills now change based on climate and season".

Does that fixes the compatibility issues with Fixed Desert Architecture?

    Thank you for your mod!

Sadly no, but I've already got Cliffworms approval to used his Fixed Desert Architecture. That will be in the next update when I get time.

Sucks that this was never answered. There should be a note in the description page under the manual installation instructions so people aren't confused about this. In case someone else also has this question, I'll give my answer here; I 'assume' it's not needed and only used by mod installers since the manual install instructions don't tell you to put it into the 'Mods' folder.

No, it is not needed. It is not even used by mod installers, it is used by the mod maker's dev tools. But it does not harm anything if it does get copied over.

Hello, this is a nice mod. Just out of curiosity does this work with D.A.R.K?

    Kind regards
