It would be amazing to see this mod work together with kleptomania - both cover two sides of the same coin, so to speak, but don't seem to agree.

A lantern has been added to my inventory and it's forced on when I'm outside. If I try to drop it, another lit lantern just appears in my inventory. Is this intended? I would like to turn off my lantern outside.

Edit: nevermind sorry. This was an effect from location based effects

This mod doesn't work with Climates & Calories for me, Whenever I use a campfire nothing happens.

These two are specifically coded for each other, as long as you let them be in the right load order.

Very likely some other mod you are using is breaking one of the mods. Try turning off a bunch of other mods and check if it works then?

When I turned off this mod the problem went away, I'll try disabling other mods though

I found this happening as well: campfires work outside but not indoors.

Climates' campfires work fine if either Darker Dungeons *or* WOD-Terrain is active, but not both. There are no log errors that I can
see related to WOD-Terrain when this happens, just these from Darker Dungeons. I'll put a note about this on WOD-Terrain as well, though, since I think this only started with the latest WOD-Terrain update and the cause might well be there.

I use these mods with no issue, so there might be something else in your mod loadout causing Darker Dungeons to fail. Test if this new version changes the experience.

No luck, unfortunately - still the same sort of errors in the log this time. Thanks for looking.

Trying disabling other mods, if I keep WOD-Terrain enabled but disable Interesting Eroded Terrain, then the campfire starts working again.

You should relly not be combining two terrain mods at once. If you want to use IET, don’t use the WoD Terrain mod.

What happens if you try to take a light source that's a teleport/door trigger?  Currently stuck in a dungeon with no paths to the exit and afraid I might've broken something by removing something essential to teleporting back or opening a passage D:

You can not. Torches that are triggers are left alone still burning and unable to take. So if you spot a single burning torch in a dark dungeon, it is very likely a trigger.

Correction: I found a bug where if you were in a non-humanoid dungeon there was a 50% chance of torches being removed that also were triggers.

Sorry about that. Fixed in this release.

I am having the issue with ranged spells blowing up in my face, I saw a reddit thread from a few years ago where the issue was brought up.
    Any suggestions?

Only reason that has happened is because the floating candle from the Light spell was given collision. This was solved in DFU a couple of versions ago. Did you have the light spell running when this happened?

I did not, I had a lantern activated from my inventory but no spell.
It had something to do with hand painted models I think, turning that off stops it from happening.
      EDIT.
It seems to only happen inside. E.g. the starting dungeon, once I go outside it stops.
On the latest version of DFU 1.0

Having the same problem. But it seems fine in some dungeons, while glitching in others. Seemingly no reason, that I can find.

I dont have light spells active. Using a torch. Dont suppose it has a hidden object in front of the player character when active? If this could be a reason, dont forget candles and lamps.

Makes magic users impossible to use, due to any ranged spell is useless, while Darker Dungeons is active. Seems fine outside though.

Also noticing a bug for wall torches. It has no flame and when I click it once "torch doused". Click it 2nd time to ignite the flame. I dont know how mods work, so I cannot resolve the bugs. Except disable Darker Dungeons.

Nice. I hope this fixes it for you.

But if not, note that DREAMS included setting set Darker Dungeons feature for Auto Dousing And Removing torches to OFF. This turns off the function that was causing the issue. It also makes all dungeons always have all torches lit when you enter though.

Any plans to make this and handpainted models compatible? Seems that realtime reflections also has a conflict where this mod stops working.

Yes, I am going to make an attempt to make this mod more compatible with HPM, hopefully soon when I can find the time.

Realtime Reflection is an abandoned mod that relies on code that does not exist in DFU 1.0.0, so I can not make this mod compatible.

I just took a look at this. When using the DREAM presets and load order for mods, it works fine. However, if you activate the added DD features that DREAM presets turns off, the problem occurs with some HPM models, like the lantern on a stick model.

I have a fixed build, but I am waiting until I have done some more testing before updating.

Have you been inside Daggerfall Castle? Half the throne room is blocked by some invisible lamp.

Load order had no bearing when I tested.

Greets, and thxs for your great work.

Just to say that the mod 'villagers reactions' also impedes all the torches system (taking, dosing, dark areas...). Had to uninstall it.

    Cheers! :)

thanks for warning, but it seems it's incompatible with way more mods. i've disabled several already and i still can't grab the first torch :(

Found more bugs. It may be interacting poorly with Hand Painted mod. But when I turn off Darker Dungeons, all these problem vanish.

Tower of Buckinging in Daggerfall province has invisible walls, that in grab mode seem to be a giant invisible lamp. It keeps telling me "you do not have oil", as though it is a lamp. This happens in Daggerfall Castle, in Daggerfall province. Literally the throne room is blocked by a giany invisible lamp or something. Again, says "you do not have oil".

Turn off DD and everything goes on as normal.

Hate to complain, but this is making much of the game unplayable :(

I really do feel this mod is essential. But not when it is the only thing not playing well with other mods.

Can you look into it please?

Yeah, this is likely caused by DREAM+HPM+DD. Some of the HPM models have weirdly dimensioned hitboxes which get screwy when DREAM and DD try to make them clickable and the correct size.

I fixed one or two I found during the last time I tested with these mods. I’ll do another test and see if I can fix more the next time I test. Since I do not use DREAM or HPM myself I do not notice these issues myself during normal play.

Well I appreciate it! This mod should be a primary part of the game. It makes perfect sense, a forgotten dungeon would be pitch black until someone turns on lights.

I dont suppose InstantKarma will add this to the unity engine?

      :)

Oh and to confirm, I do use DREAM+Hand Painted.
