I'm not sure if this is intended or simply a byproduct, so I have no filled a bug report on this. With that being said, it would be nice to see a toggle or some way to circumvent this...
When you own a shop, the items you purchase from it will be discounted to around 1-2 gold each. Do note that the specific item's value will be stuck at this discounted amount forever, even if you try to sell it somewhere else. The item will function just fine, we just simply will not profit from taking items from our store to sell to another store.
Fortunately, this only applies to that single instance of the item, not all of that item.
For example:
Say I buy a horse from my shop at the discounted rate of 2 gold.
This specific horse's value will be permanently set to 0 gold (even if the player steals it instead of purchasing it).
When I go to sell the horse, it will sell for 0 gold.
However, other horses that I've obtained from un-owned shops will still retain the default value and sell for the proper amount.
Currently, I believe the only way to change this without editing the actual mod, is to go to the save's .txt file and edit the values for each individual item. I do personally find it slightly distracting and immersion-breaking, especially since we cannot sell acquisitions yet. It would be neat for a stealth/thief oriented player to be able to steal the horses from their own shop, with the head-canon being that it's written off on the player's taxes (ie tax fraud). Currently, if the player owns all the shops in an area, they must go elsewhere to obtain goods to barter with.
Despite this, I suppose it does keep things balanced, since we are already receiving earnings each month from the business. Although, for the price that I've paid for the business, it would be nice to have the option.
Nevertheless, I'm thankful for this fantastic mod. It certainly deserves more attention & praise!
Acquisitions look just like Letters of Credit. They're basically parchment papers that are decorated with black-ink writing and stamped with a red seal.
(I think this is all accurate, but I could be very wrong. Please just use the following steps to get a general idea of what to do.)
To find the acquisition for any given shop...
Continue to shop as if you are going to purchase an item.
Just choose any shelf/rack in the store, it doesn't matter.
The acquisition should be located at the bottom of the list of items for each.
Purchase it like you would any other item from a shop.
To find the acquisition for any given inn/ tavern...
First you'll first need to make sure that your interaction-mode is set to Steal.
Then, without changing interaction-mode, click-on/activate/speak to the big boss-man who runs the joint (inn-keeper, etc).
There will be a pop-up with some text and a yes/no prompt.
A shop window will open, featuring the acquisition.
Purchase it like you would any other item from a shop.
Seems like a really nice mod , only question i have is, was pick pocketing planned to work with this , because i stole 8 of them so far, and it kinda seems broken if it still works like they were bought.
Oh my god, now we really need a mod that ties together Acquisition with the new Iliac Bay Real Estate mod. Letting you rent out your houses to NPCs to gain passive income straight into all your bank accounts across the bay.

+1 I want to own a shop too to sell my loot. and hire a shopkeeper, a repair npc that repairs your loot then puts you loot up for sale. Plus npcs come in and shop or shop lift. Hire a guard. Order other stuff to sell.
HI, it seems this mod is incompatible with the inventory filter mod, which appears to not allow the Aquisition contract to appear for shops except inns.
Where do we buy taverns at? The inn keep has nothing for sale but food and drink. Where do we buy any of it for that matter? If you happen to see this, or anyone who knows, what is the conflict with Limited Shop Gold? EDIT. Ok played around for a bit and it seems with Limited gold shops on the item does not appear. I'll track this and hope for a patch someday.
Someone mentioned previously there's a conflict with this mod and Limited Gold Shops, if anyone knows what is the conflict? And is there a workaround/fix?
Hey! Love this mod! But I'm having some trouble. Worked fine on my other laptop but I've tried installing the mod now manually and through the Vortex mod manager and it doesn't appear in mods found list when I start the game! Any suggestions? :D
