So only red and blue books are skill books, correct? And I could read one of these books, rest for 8 hours to get the skill boost, then read the same book again and get another skill boost?
After a while, you'd have to upgrade to a higher tier of that same kind of book, usually after you hit a certain skill threshold. Otherwise, you learn nothing more from that tier of book.
Very nicely done, it adds a lots in the way of immersion!
I personally enjoy going to read in my room after my meal at the tavern; makes it so much more realistic to go to bed at 21-23h, tired from reading at the candlelight so hard. Perfect in so many ways!
i'd use this if , instead , it added this functionality to some of the books already in the game . i'd be happy to provide my personal pick list for which books should provide which skills if you give me a few weeks , to compare against your own ?
also ii'm all in for mods which add more cool books to the game ~ .
I'm encountering an odd problem with approaching the boundary between skill levels. For example I just finished training my miscellaneous skill up to 40% with the basic book, but the advanced book says "This book is too advanced for you", and the basic book returns the same message as well. It feels as though the condition only checks for either "less" or "greater", and not "or equal", so a problem like this arises.
I'll take a look at the code to make sure this is not the case, but just to be sure: the problem is not that your character does not have high enough INT?
This is just an idea or a suggestion or maybe it's already in the mod, but is there a way to make these one time uses if desired in the settings of the mod file? That would be pretty cool, because I like the idea of the books, I just don't like the idea of my character getting op by resting in taverns or exploiting ways to get his fatigue back and then just spamming these books. If not that's alright, just curious. :)
You can't really spam them as you are not sure how many skill tallies they give on each reading and you need to rest 8 hours before you then gain 1% in the skill no matter how many hours you read the book. So you can spam them but it won't give you any more benefit than reading them one or a couple of times. So, read book 10 hours rest 8 hours = 1% skill increase Read book 1 hour rest 8 hours = 1% skill increase Also, the books break after enough readings, particularly the ones you find in loot.

How about different books can add a set amount and no further gain?
