Love this mod, but I have two suggestion that I think would complement it:
New terrain paint which paints mountains as proper mountains instead of just bumpy grass Trees shouldn't grow on mountains, maybe a way to cull them from this angles and from the top of them?
After the "interesting terrain" variation of this mod stopped working in 0.13.0, I gave the original enhanced and eroded terrains a try, and I must say that I really like it.
I preserves the vanilla style, but offers some really nice views in some parts of the world. The coastlines are very well done and it works good with Basic Roads. It does not have these dramatic mountain ranges you get with "interesting terrain", but still some good height differences which create unique landscapes.
Thanks for keeping this mod uploaded even after you combined it with IT.
Great mod first of all, but you recommend the use of this mod with Nystul's Distant Terrain mod. It seems to work mostly well with this mod but there are a few issues with distant heightmaps, particularly around Daggerfall's coast (the distant terrain heightmap is high above the near terrain heightmap, creating weird landmasses). What settings do you use Nystul's mod with for the best effect?
Could you provide me with screenshots? I don't see any issues like that on my end. I have everything enabled for the Distant Terrain mod. If you're referring to how the edges between near terrain and different terrain are at slightly differing heights, I have no idea how to fix that.
I've tried messing around with the height-map, but there's always a discrepancy between them. It's relatively minor though, and only really noticeable if you're moving at super-human speeds or just when you're transitioning between cells. I'm thinking this is something on the end of the Distant Terrain mod. Nevertheless, I think even with that issue, the Distant Terrain mod adds a lot to the look and feel of this mod. If you want me to tweak and create a version of the mod to be used without Distant Terrain, I'd be glad to. :)
I was referring to how the edges between near and distant terrain are different but, on reflection, its not really a big problem anyway. I did occasionally notice that daggerfall would fix the issues between near and distant terrain (by joining the terrains edges) but it only happened a few times. Thanks for the reply.
I was super happy to find a mod that edits the world in a way which works with Distant Terrain. I was so excited to play the game with these beautiful improvements with my old save... Sadly, when I load it, I fall 30 metres and die instantly. Because my save is 30 metres higher than the new terrain ;_; can I do anything about it?
You should be fine if you load a save in an interior. If not, you can hit [ ` ] on your keyboard and type in "tgm" (with no quotes) to enable and disable godmode.
This Mod seems to break Skyshards https://www.nexusmods.com/daggerfallunity/mods/24
They don't show up at all with this one installed, already tried switching stuff around, just a heads up.. That's the only one it seems to mess with too..
It's really strange, you're the second person to tell me that but I just can't reproduce it on my end. Skyshards just works for me no issues, and for the first person who mentioned it, the mod just suddenly started working with no rhyme or reason.
This looks gorgeous. Indeed, stunning. I love the way you approached geological formation from first principles! I wonder if your drainage channeling calculations might be used to add things like rivers to the map, which is something Hazlenut appeared to show a little interest in on the daggerfall workshop forums. Although in real life towns are often situated on rivers, I for one don't believe it's that necessary to emphasize that aspect; the mere existence of streams and rivers will make a world of difference in the game's immersion.
Thank you! They certainly could, the program I use, World Machine, allows me to export a map of all the river channels including changes in channel size so that you could have both small streams and major rivers. However, I'm not a programmer, so the most I could do is supply the map to someone who could make use of it.
Love what you are doing here. set it up looked great. But i wasn't able to find the first skyshard from that mod. right out of privateers hold? i wondered around noticed some of how places are moved slightly. but after many circles i couldnt find it around where it should be? so idk just letting you know.
Thanks for the heads up, I just got the mod but I don't seem to have any issues on my end. It's right at the foot of the hill by Privateer's Hold. Perhaps you've already activated the shard?
Huh i Don't get it. that was a fresh character. left the hold and nothing. even used a save inside the hold left and nothing. made yet another character and boom it is there. thanks for the reply tho lookin good now. just chop it up too the beauty of modding.
