In the quest "Outsourcing" you're told to find a "particular expert" somewhere in "the region" but you're not given any specific location, like a town, settlement, etc... and the name I was given doesn't come up as a dialogue option with anyone. Is this a bug? Idk how I'm supposed to search all over Daggerfall (my current region) for an NPC with zero directions.
I just ran into this exact situation with this same quest. Normally in the very first screen that appears when speaking with an NPC I just select the general category and then either select the person's name or something like "The So-and-so House". Doing that will get the name of the house for example. In this case asking about the quest target here only gets answers about what town to visit. Once I got to the town I had to specifically select the "PEOPLE" category under 'tell me about' and then click on the person's name in that list. I then got instructions to go to a library.
After trying for hours... I read this post, and somewhat it helped me. BUT, in my case it was a matter of searching for the name under "Where is... name X" and not in "Tell me about"... I was about to rage quit... -.-"
I'm confused, I joined the guild and have been between both buildings, but I can't find a quest giver. Do not all Archeologist locations have a quest giver? is there possibly a bug?
Actually I have discovered if you have Vanilla Enhanced - Animated People loaded, the Quest Giver's flat disappears as they do not have an animated equivalent. I am currently attempting to find a solution through load order for this issue.
I think i might have a conflict. I can't find the guilds in most of the locations they're supposed to be, and sometimes they won't even get marked as blue on the map.
Same problem here, which makes me very sad, because I love this mod...
I have used the mod in the past, in 2 installations (1 or 2 years ago) everything went fine. Now in the third one (different PC) I have this problem: the Guild does not appear in many cities (or should I say regions). I did some testing, here are the preliminary results:
- The Guild exists in some dialogues (rumors) and appears sporadically in other realms (Betony for example), where you can join and get the Locator - The Guild "block" is never blue - The guild tends not to appear in Daggerfall (region and city) or Sentinel (region and city), I have not tried Wyarest - If you ask NPCs about the location of the Guilds, it never appears in the lists (so far) - The guild appears in some other regions (Anticlere, for example) more easily, but not in every city where it should - There are city maps where the "block" is completely missing, especially those in the desert south - There are cities where the block appears but if you enter inside it is completely empty (no NPCs and no signs outside)! - If I disable "Unofficial Block Location and Model fixes" and similar it starts appearing in some regions (some lesser town of Daggerfall) every now and then, but requires further testing (nothing in Daggerfall capital yet) - I do not have "SphincterVision Paint the Town Red" mod - I did the testing in current game and in a newer one
It's probably some mod conflict (?), but I've yet to find the real "culprit"
EDIT: Ok, it was all my fault. I downloaded but did not install the Guild patch from "Beautiful Cities"... -.-'' Sorry to bother I will do some testing, but all seems fine now
I am very new to modding. This is my first mod ever. I downloaded the mod and went to an archeologist guild hall only for none of the NPCs to have the join guild option or offer anything beyond normal dialog. Plus the words archeologist guild don't show up in the dialog box. It's just blank and any dialog saying 'the archeyguild'from me is blank. The dialog from the NPCs looks like coding instead of saying 'the archeologist guild'. And the square says "oops tell mom" I feel like it's gotta be something I did that's making it do this but I don't know what it is. Can anyone give suggestions?
Thanks for making this impressive mod! For me, the best improvement to this game of all time was the locator devices. It does not spoil the game by using cheat codes but replaces the luck-based dungeon searching with the observation-based and enjoyable process of following the locator dot to the quest item. Endorsed!
BTW - the guild locations in the cities and villages on the Southern side of the bay are not appearing for me. Perhaps it's the Fixed Desert Architecture mod interfering? Suggestions for load order or settings to fix this would be appreciated.
I love the idea behind this mod, but I can't bring myself to use it because it's so much more powerful than any other guild or temple in the game, except maybe the Mage's Guild.
Would you consider making the different features optional in settings or an ini? Specifically for me it's:
- Potion sales and crafting - Item enchanting - Daedra summoning - I don't even know what Avoid Death means, but I probably don't want to... - Maybe Locators - Maybe Recalls
Hello, thank you for the amazing work. I have 2 questions: 1. Can this be added mid game 2. Can this be removed mid game if installed from the start but never even visited the guild yet? Will the game save be ok afterwards? Thanks

As always, thanks for this wonderful mod

Thanks for consideration. Great idea for a mod!
