Hi! im having a problem with the quest where the dying soldier gives you a letter. I followed the directions to the palace where the general stood, but i was not able to interact with him. Using the info mode i found out that the general had the wrong name. The location was right but the general had a completely other name than the one i found in the letter. He didnt even have a generic dialogue window.
This mod i cool but the current version does not work, im going to uninstall it now but im looking forward to reinstalling it when you have sorted out the problems.
I had some dying soldier give me a letter to a general in Aldingwall palace, but when I got there, the general wasn't there. I asked an NPC there where he was, and she said that he was in the palace, but I looked EVERYWHERE and couldn't find this dude. I think it's a quest from your mod? I'm wondering if it's a texture issue since I've got DREAM installed, but I doubt that could be the reason.
Playing more today, I also got a quest from a lost soldier who needed to be taken to Charton Palace in 66 days to see some general. I get to the palace, and see the general, but I can't speak to him. I made sure to be in dialogue mode, and nothin happens. I click him as much as I want and it doesn't progress the quest. So I'll have to revert back to a previous save.
There isn't any conflict between this and Warm Ashes. They can be run at the same time no problem, since this doesn't interact in any way with the WA files. About how similar they are... the operate on similar principles, but Warm Ashes is A LOT more comprehensive and includes a ton more content. Using this doesn't detract anything from WA, but doesn't add anywhere as much content as WA does. If you want to, you could think of it as a mini-expansion inspired by WA that adds 8 more random encounters.
Hmmm that's weird. Try copying the bfmaster.txt file into the /StreamingAssets/Quests folder and try again. I've been told that in some versions of DaggerFall Unity only quests inside /StreamingAssets/Quests can be started from the console. Tell me how it goes!
If that doesn't work, maybe the quest is failing to parse (though I playtested this questpack on four different saves and I never encountered that error when trying to start it from the console). Usually when a quest fails to parse the reason why gets logged in the questlog, though I'm not sure what folder it gets saved to on Mac. The directory should appear towards the bottom of the launch screen when you start DFU.
