    PSA: Vortex Collections

Effective immediately I will not be accepting any bug reports from users who are playing with Vortex collections. If you believe you know the cause behind a specific issue, test your theory on a separate Portable installation of DFU using only the relevant mods and only then make a report.
If you cannot identify the issue yourself, take it up with the collection author, rather than with myself or individual mod authors. Failure to comply with this etiquette will have you blocked from making further posts to this mod page.

A warning for Immersive Travel states that it needs to be below Travel Options. But in my experience this is not correct, Travel Options needs to be below Immersive Travel because otherwise accelerated travel is not possible from the world map, you are locked to fast travel only.

Load order/mod sorting messages are not handled by Mod Issue Checker. These are a native function of Daggerfall Unity's mod configuration screen. These messages are based on dependencies set by individual mod authors and baked into their .dfmod files.

Mod Issue Checker will only ever give you warnings in Daggerfall's main menu (Load Saved Game/Start New Game/Exit screen).
Warnings before this point are based on mod dependencies.
Warnings beyond this point are custom mod scripts.
Please report issues with these type of warnings to their corresponding mod authors. I have no control over them.

This checker is one of the great reasons why I use MO2. I don't NEED it to organize and set up mod lists, but it makes it one hell of a convenient time, getting things to work. And if I can, I don't necessarily have to.

What happened with the Skyboxer/Race Height author that there's an author-based warning? Did they include malware with mods or something?

Generally rushing the release of mods, not testing properly, not going back to fix reported bugs before releasing new mods, using clunky workarounds/lazy coding solutions with the potential to cause issues (see: Memory leak in Lagless), refusing to give any descriptions/help to other modders trying to make their (pre-existing) mods compatible with his, etc.

Ragequit DFU modding after having a pull request to the DFU codebase rejected because he was having microstutter issues on old hardware and instead of trying to pinpoint the issue, he made big changes to the code (which Lagless and its memory leak were largely based off...), showed them working in the Unity Editor (which infamously performs very differently from DFU being run as a program after compilation) and refused to work with Interkarma (main dev and person most familiar with the DFU codebase) to pinpoint the issue and clean up the code. Got into a fight with other DFU modders about it on Discord, tried to call others racist and get mods involved. Just a general shitshow.

For what it is worth: As of recently I've had help from Excoriated and Rory to code audit some of these older mods with wacky code and suspicious bug reports. Some reports we've debunked/assigned blame to user error or mod conflicts, others we've managed to find plausible and more detailed explanations for. Currently working on the largest data update to the Known Mods Issues List since its inception in preparation Mod Issue Checker's 1.0.2 update. Depending on how further deep dives into JohnDoom's mods go and whether Kamer ends up being able to work with Imsobadatnicknames to bugfix his old problematic (currently hidden on Nexus) mods, I might entirely abolish the Author-Based Warning system.

I use MO2 for my modding (after having to update over 90 mods when updating DFU versions pushed me to this xD)
Do you know if this will this still work with an MO2 setup?

Does MO2 ultimately still put all the files on their corresponding folders? If so, it should.
You can try to add a random minor-issue mod from the list to your mod list and see if it triggers a warning.

I also use MO2 for convenience sake and the VFS works really well and I have never had it give me any trouble with DFU. This mod is no exception and has already gotten me to deactivate a couple of mods that can be risky for stability and performance. Honestly, what I really need is a search bar in the DFU mod menu so that I can pull up specific mods without having to scroll through my entire mod list looking for them.

Ye, i gave it a go, i just wasnt sure how this all worked xD Didnt realize it was also a .dfmod P:
It works fine, though am a little confused as a few of the mods im using are apparently non-functional or severe, except ive put in at least 50+ hours into this save, and they work just fine for me (like uncanny ui, advanced teleportation, and crafting)
A lot of these could just be a 'it just hasnt affected me' kinda situation. Though that said, with advanced teleport, im not sure if its complaining because of the OG version which is totally bugged, or the updated version for current DFU which only bugs if you had an anchorpoint set before installing the mod. (I had to go in and manually delete the anchor point from my save file)

also @ Relddemworddsmith, 100%. I would be ecstatic if they went in and redid the entire interface for the mod setup. When you have 140+ mods, it becomes a hassle even reordering everything into something that could be somewhat seen as reasonable, especially when theres no DRAG AND DROP or SET PRIORITY POSITION function D:< The whole interface just needs a good overhaul.

      Uncanny UI
This one might be wrong, I'll have to look into the reported issues again next time I update the list. I haven't personally playtested it for any decent length of time. Might need to be change to Minor severity and a "May cause minor issues, consider using the newer version" type of message other mods use.

      Advanced Teleportation
This one is an annoying one on our end, since both mods use the same .dfmod name and GUID. Old version is just broken as all Hell. New version seems to work for most people but has caused at least one instance of complete savefile corruption for apparently no reason, even after following the instructions given by the mod author. Looks like the author for the new version is still working on the mod, I'll wait and see if they release an update to the mod. If not, I'll go back and review all the info I have about the corruption case and decide if keeping the 1.1.0 mod on the list is warranted.

      Crafting
I trust the source for this one. Looking at the mod page again, there seems to be a new report that crafting the Decanter permanently lowers the SPD stat by 1. So yknow, maybe test that one out.

The whole interface just needs a good overhaul.
iirc there's several upgrades planned for the mod UI in DFU 1.2, development has just slowed to a crawl

      Yeee.
I just remembered, or realized rather, that im not using regular uncanny. Im using the Simply Darker version of it, so this might be why it works fine for me since its slapped atop regular Uncanny.
(actually just now checking, it seems some part of the UI is not changing over to dark. But Uncanny is *definitely* functioning. Inventories changed and other menus have changed as well. I likely just didnt install Simply Darker correctly through MO2)

Im probably going to prune crafting either way, but my issue with it was that i dont see any weirdness in the shop lists having nul items or anything like that. I havent messed toooo much with it tho.

Also am hyped for those updates. Hopefully they push that out sooner rather than later :D

      EDIT:
I do have a question about Actions Framework and Quest Actions Extension. Theres mods out there that still list AF as a requirement, but are they interchangeable?

Quest Actions Extension includes all quest actions from Health Quest Actions & Actions Framework, plus many new ones unique to it.

Every mod that is listed as requiring HQA or AF will function correctly when using QAE instead.

High praise coming from Mrs. DET herself! Many thanks for the continued support.

I've already got enough on my plate with the current features being worked on for 1.0.2, but I was thinking that for 1.0.3 maybe we could detect if old DET-based mods are being run without DET Legacy. Will be very useful both right now with the "needs both versions" situation for BCOD/BVOD, and long term for mods like Soldier's Luxury which I don't expect to see updated soon.

Thanks for this! It does say the spider replacer (bear version) doesn't work anymore - however I've been using it on the latest version, so that's likely wrong!

      Thanks for the info!
Can you try using console command cm 6 with the original Remove Spiders mod enabled and let me know if it looks like a spider or a bear? (It should spawn a spider, which if the mod is working properly, should look like a bear). Also please let me know if you're on Mac, Windows or Linux.

    oh my fav mod

    skill issue checker

This is great for finding out if the mods you have have a problem with the mentioned list but if your goal is to get information about compatibility between mods unfortunately you will still have to deal with it with your own experience.

Excoriated is currently working on the necessary mod code changes to get it working (plus some other minor fixes). Expect to see a mod update with further info about mod incompatibilities over the next couple weeks!
We just wanted to get out a version with the minimum feature set we were happy with so we could start collecting feedback :)

      Much appreciated !
I did have a mod with major bugs, that even the mod author confirms.  I had not spotted them.

Endorsed and voted for mod of the month !

I presume it is also thanks to this mod that I was offered to remove unused old mod configurations, warned me that my save use to have another mod, etc.

The removable of unused mod settings is actually a vanilla DFU feature :) Also the warning that mods are missing is vanilla DFU (good feature).

Thanks for the endorsement and vote :O
