It would be VERY NICE to have SOME sort of explanation how to use this mod correctly for cyberpunk. How to use an older safe file to create one profile and how to just generally navigate this mod. I am sitting here frustrated out of my mind. Please. I am seething at this point trying to understand and waiting for the app to respond because everything takes ages and nothing works like you would expect it to. Just ended up uninstalling this. I am glad a made a savegame backup beforehand. This could be really great if there was just some kind of manual or explanation. Otherwise.. good luck to whoever is using this.
I'm leaving this here as a note to self just as much as a warning to anyone thinking of using this mod: This manager will often fail to recognize recent saves as part of the current profile and put them in a new "Online_Save_#" profile instead. When it does this, UPDATE you current profile and load the game to make sure all you saves are there. If you delete the "Online_Save_#" profile before doing this, you will LOSE ALL PROGRESS on the "Online_Save_#" profile. After closing the game, ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP of all your saves manually.
Sadly, profiles are an alien concept to CDPR, so we have to jump through hoops if we want multiple concurrent playthroughs. I guess we should be grateful that they finally gave us a playable game 2 years after release.
To anyone still struggling with the save files meshing between profiles, simply turn off cross progressio and place your saves that you want (ex. streetkid playthroughs in streetkid profile, and it will work fine.
I still don't understand how to have multiple slots for me and my siblings, when I load it up it always has the same save slots, no matter which profile I load, or which game path I use. When I make a save on one profile, its still there if I load a different profile. Can someone explain how to switch profiles so that my game slots are seperated for each profile? Most people on here seem to have it working so I just feel dumb. Im playing cyberpunk by the way. Thanks!
There is a misunderstanding here. When creating a new profile by using the + button, the app generally copies your current savegames to the profile. So you can theoretically create infinite profiles and they will all be at the exact same state initially. Only if you then make changes (play, delete saves) these changes will only apply to the active profile. To create an empty profile with no saves, you would want to delete all saves in-game after creating the corresponding profile (until now).
As I realized this seemed to be kind of confusing for most people I just uploaded a new version that should fix your problem. You can now create empty profiles directly via the + button. Edit: I just found out that your problem might have been, that steam recovers all saves even if you create an empty profile. Try avoiding that by starting steam in offline mode for creating a new profile maybe.
Im having the same issue here. In order to get help I will explain the basic set up I have created:
I have two Profiles: 1 - Default (populated by 1 auto save) 2 - Mine (populated by many auto saves and several manual saves)
When I load Profile 1, all of the saves present in Profile 2 are present.
Thinking maybe the game was still loading from the original savegame directory I deleted the original saves from that directory located at : C:\Users\MYUSERNAME\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077.
The result was that there were no saves present in the game after loading. So what is happening essentially is that the game is still looking at the original directory for saves. Is there something I missed in the config? I set the game path to load the game just fine from the SaveSwitcher app and the set the saves dir to:
I created an empty profile with no saves and it just copied the saves from my first profile to my second, and I have no idea how to start steam in offline for creating a new profile as it just opens to launcher for cyberpunk. I also dont see how starting steam in offline mode would help as(correct me if im wrong) wouldn't that interfere with saving somehow?
Ok so Im confused on this mod, whenever I make a new profile for a new character, the new saves sync with the other profile despite me not updating it and vice versa, if they are going to sync regardless Doesn't that defeat this mod's purpose? any help in figuring this out would be greatly appreciated.
I like it that i can switch between 2 characters without endangering them to accidentally overwrite them.
BUT since i play cyberpunk offline sometimes because i have bad internet where i live right now the saave switcher creates a automatic save that contained my progress since i started today... i didnt know that and deleted it so now are 5-7 hours gone... can this be fixed or worked aroun or in the best case: can i recover my progress somehow?
Installed so my partner can play, they didn't understand how to use so I uninstalled and now all my saves are gone in both the backup and original save location. Anyone know where they could've gone?
