can I theoretically modify the .json, replace the songs for my lossless ones and add a couple, or they need to be in mp3 at 128? waiting for the radioext to be updated to try it out!

As long as you are using file types supported by RadioExt

      • Supported formats are: .mp3, .wav, .ogg, .flac, .mp2, .wax, .wma
      Source: RadioExt Github

The files hosted are just ripped from Soundcloud rather than compiled from game files, and MP3 128 for the best quality value for its file sizes. Otherwise the Nexus file would be a larger download for very little difference in game.

If an official OST gets released then I will probably update song files with such but for now I feel as what's hosted is the best median. But again each can make their own customizations, just make sure to check with the link above if such is supported.

many thanks, I was looking at the radioext page for info but I didn't find much in the description. Now that it's updated I'll give it a try, and thanks to you for this mod!

So I wanted to add the songs to the radio station myself and I got the MP3s and added them to the metadata.json but because I did this the radio station has just completely vanished from anything that is a radio

    What did I f*#@ up.

If I had to guess, make sure there isn't any syntax errors or incorrect JSON formatting for the metadata.

I kid you not, I've been modifying config files for ages and yet I keep forgetting to put "," at the end of the songs so Radioext can recognise multiple songs

Once RadioEXT is updated for 2.1 and I get back around to CP77 (will be out of town for holidays) I will be adding the Purgatory DLC songs.

    Updated with Purgatory DLC songs.

Can you make a second version that replaces one of the stations from the game?

I love the music, but the problem is if the music isn't a replacer you don't hear it organically in the game world or in clubs

I have only tested with vortex.
If you are getting the warning, choose install to staging anyway.

And of course ensure you have the latest versions of the requirements.

I had my radio volume down and this is still louder than every other station. Is that normal?

I hadn't adjusted the metadata volume settings from default (value of 1.0) so will likely be louder due to volume of the files.

You can edit the metadata.json with a text editor and change volume to meet your preferences. I found a value of roughly 0.5 is close to default stations, maybe a bit lower.
metadata location is \bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks\mods\radioExt\radios\666.1 Metal Hellsinger
