reading the comments i thought it would blow out my screen during the day but with my current lighting setup the scanner only lightens the screen a tad bit in the night and day. Is there a way to up the brightness?
looks like the mod is dead, which is unfortunate its works so well, until theres no building surrounding you
edit : apparently it have something to do with some LUT/ENV, i switch from nova lut/nclm/weather probability rebalance to evolut/choomweather and everything works fine, or a vanilla lightning bug ? we'll never know
This is unusable during daytime outside. Entire screen is washed out. Is there a way to have it be disabled when either outside or during the day(outside)?
To be honest I never noticed the vignette until I saw it mentioned here. The game is just always just pretty dark to notice. But now seeing it without it, and with this new brightness to it, I really like how it looks. There are some bright spots in lit areas because of it, but I'd rather have that than it be too dark to see anything.
Turned out the bright spots were too bright in daytime, can't see anything in some areas. Will just use flashlight mod instead as it's just as easy to install, and simple to tweak. Appreciate what this was trying to do though.
Keanu Wheeze made a mod that does exactly that which has been linked in the "requirements" as a recommendation since release. NV Scanner is for people who want something built in.
Eeeee, well that sucks. Sorry, being able to make it a toggle feature is something beyond my understanding.
I would've made this mod much sooner had I not actually modded the wrong file a year ago - no results, so I assumed the scanning properties(which is labeled focus for some reason) was outside my reach.
If you are wondering, yes, there is a similar file labeled scanning which effects zoom. So in the game scanning is for zoom and focus is for scanning. :D
So to fix your GITS mod that is considered too dark (along other issues...) , you make a duplicate of the NightVision mod rather than actually fixing your mod?!?
Well, it's not like I'm not working on this free stuff you don't care about. For mods that are so terrible; why they're living rent free in your head is puzzling.
What inis? Those are old files for 1.63. If you're using them now then that's on you.
brudda its not his job to tailor his FREE mods to every commercially available monitor and user specifications. Cool that YOU find it too dark, some people just learnt how to change the gamma and/or contrast to suit their display specs. Yano, a thing you should learn to do cause every person's hardware is different including their monitors. Let alone their personal preference.
It's like me going from sRGB to BT.709 display colour range on DMC5 and complaining its now too dark. Almost as if the simple solution is to just change my gamma settings ....
@BabaBooey88 If Its any consolation, I literally can't play the base game anymore after using your GITS mod. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to do this stuff.
@BabaBooey88 I think Lusyphel was talking to the guy who insulted you. Telling him he's got a lot of nerve talking sh-t when he himself has released no mods. But seriously, bro, wth, these people have some insane nerve. The entitlement from these nutcases nowadays blows my mind.
Also, based on your work with GITS, something you might be interested in is SHADERDECK/FILMDECK by TreyM if you haven't seen it already. I know ReShade can be kind of a pain, but it's worth it. He gives you an insane amount of negative and print film (essentially LUTs) from FujiFilm (Fujucolor, Realea, Superia, Eterna), Kodak (Vision3, Ultramax) and Eastman with multiple versions of each type. Something like 22 negatives and 24 prints, and you can use them in combination with one another, or bypass one or the other. They're really well done LUTs imo and a lot of them compliment Cyberpunk because of the typical vintage quality of the majority of them. You can also select from 16mm, Super 35 and 35mm Full Frame.
The entitlement here is unbelievable. In fact, it's psychotic. Kudos BabaBooey88, stay aloof of these clowns. Nothing will ever be good enough for them. It's pathetic.

Also, GITS works amazingly well for me - maybe you're just sour because you're not smart enough to figure it out?
