IMPORTANT NOTE As of Cyberpunk V2.1, the mod no longer works as usual. (see below)
Add more pathtracing rays and ray bounces to Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 / Phantom Liberty. Pathtracing simulates the bounce of light on objects. The more light bounces, the more realistic the rendering. The more rays, the less noise.
The game default is 2 rays and 2 bounces and photo mode 6 rays and 2 bounces. Path tracing requires a lot of GPU power. Be restrained with lots of rays and bounces. My recommended GPU is a minimum Geforce RTX 4070 WQHD with FrameGeneration.
INSTALLATION
- download the .zip file "Cyberpunk 2077 pathtracing mod by .ini" - copy the .ini file from the .zip to path ..\Cyberpunk 2077\engine\config\platform\pc\ - edit the file with a text editor and set the rays and bounces as you like. - I have set the .ini to 3 rays and 3 bounces. The photo mode is set to 6 rays and 2 bounces (game stock). - This mod of .ini is compatible to all others mods
>= Cyberpunk V2.1 With version 2.1 the "classic" pathtracing in Cyberpunk was deactivated. A new algorithm "ReSTIR GI" now takes care of raytracing. This should also cause less noise and ghosting. If you still want to test it, you can use the entry [Editor/ReSTIRGI] Enable = false in the .ini to deactivate ReSTIR GI and the ray and bounce settings will take effect again.
