Could it be possible to fix the "hovering" of the short hair? Cause the hair at the front isn't touching the forehead so it looks weird. Thanks in advance :)
Any chance you would be willing to make a version of this without the hairs that hang down in front of the left ear? Just have them all swept back over the ear? Thanks!
Just a warning: Using this mod with any combination of Ray Tracing/Path Tracing will result in crashes (ACCESS VIOLATION) after a random period of time. I've been trying to debug the game with a fairly large set of mods (+300), because I had crashes randomly when riding a bike or sometimes even when I opened the wardrobe screen and tried to swap out pierces of clothing. Only after removing this mod did my game become stable again.
To illustrate the "debugging process", I've removed all mods, started a new game, jumping to PL after character creation, and then I began to add the essential mods and the suspected crash inducing mods one by one. Even with a clean start, the game started crashing when I added this mod. In a previous post, the author confirmed that they might have forgotten to enable ray traced lighting for the hair mod, so I guess there is the explanation.
Unfortunately, I must confirm that this mod DO cause crashes when RT/PT is enabled. After reading Lupina's comment, I did some testing myself as I was using the '47- Songbird Hair Down' version, and I also had random crashes ever since my old non-RTX card died and I got a new 4070 in September last year. I already suspected that a mod which is active in third-person view would be the root cause. I had no crashes during first-person "on foot" gameplay. The only time crashes occurred were during El Capitano's car courier side gigs (I drive in 3rd person view), riding bikes, and opening the inventory. Removing this mod did fix the crashes.
Thank you for performing some tests yourself and informing me the issue described above isn't unique, i really appreciate the effort/enagement. However, I was unable to reproduce the crash myself. Tested just now using the same archive you did, enabled ray tracing, but I did not CTD when opening inventory or riding a bike. Running on a 3060ti and 5800x. I won't test Capitanos gig, due to frame rate being almost unplayably low with RT (20-25 and dips). Also did not test with PT, for the same reason. I'll put a version of that one archive, with shadows casting from original geometry enabled under optional files, I would appreciate an update on whether that fixes the issue or not, as I'm unable to confirm it myself.
Thank you for going the extra mile to try and create a fix. <3 I'll test it tomorrow. On a footnote: the crashes usually occurred after playing at least half an hour, doing two or more car deliveries in quick succession. My game is still stable without the older version of the mod. (And other games I play are also stable so I'm certain that it is not a hardware issue on my end.)
It is possible i forgot to enable ray traced lighting for these. For most of my older mods, I didn't yet know how, so they're probably lacking it as well. You can enable it by setting cast shadows to always in the .app and checking the cast from local geometry or something in the mesh, using wolvenkit.
Hey, thanks for the reply! I already did before commenting, lol. Every color was still vanilla. I also double checked the file location to make sure I placed them properly (I always manual install). That's why I asked if PL was needed, because I haven't gotten the DLC yet. I would show pics, but Nexus' image upload process is super weird. Don't know why we can't just post images in comments the same way we upload images on our profiles.
What i'm looking for is, does the hair mesh work properly when a hair color that's not the first one is selected? Or is it a buzzcut for all hair colors?

Reading more, i'm using PT and i guess that's a common issue with custom hair as far as the shadows?
