Work is no more in progress, I unfortunately do not have any time to work on it. The mod is abandonware. Feel free to download whatever version and configure in whatever way you feel. You don't need to ask me for permission, you have it. Unless what you do is illegal of course.
Top is vanilla and bottom is w/this mod; ran the in-game benchmark tool. Everything set to highest in graphics except path tracing off. Might be a tiny improvement but still helps a lil bit. Still have yet to test actual game perf but will be playing the game in the upcoming days. Any recommendations to in-game graphics settings? NOTE: was using AMD-FMF but doesn't reflect in in-game fps counter.
EDIT 1: forgot to change roughness threshold on second pic, so after setting it to 0.99 (0.9900 in ini), i got 62.31 avg, 53.71 min, and 73.14 max
The mod is probably broken as of 2.11. I mean, I never had time to update the game and to test the mod. This negative improvement screams "CDPR changed everything once again."
I will tinker around it in a week or two from now.
Doesn't increase fps drastically because I turned the fog and global illumination back on but it helps me stay at a locked 40fps on 1440p, RT Ultra in dogtown which is exactly what I wanted. It dropped to 32/35fps before. RTX 3060 12GB and i5-13400F combo.
The game is much smoother. Fps has increased from 30-40 to 50-60, but the game crashes after playing for 30 minutes every time. I don't have any other mods.
Ah, yeah. I absolutely forgot about disabling distant fog. This led to increased framerate and stability on lower end GPUs, especially with RT enabled, that's why I let it disabled. Will update the mod description for those who like fog more than no fog.
At 1080p Ultra raster + Low RT, GPUs like RX 6600 XT/5700 XT/7600; GTX 1080 Ti/RTX 2070/3060/4060 are sufficient for enabling fog without noticeable performance impact. Intel A750 onwards as well. 1440p: RX 6700 XT; RTX 2080/3070. 2160p: RX 6900 XT; RTX 3080/4070.

Comparison
You are advised to change the value to 0.99.
Only just now have I logged in and seen this comment. This mod is effectively abandonware.
And with this mod↓
NOTE: I use AMD Frame Gen mod so I enabled Path Tracing and other things maxed out (Reflections on Pyscho level)
Nice improvement anyway!

Same issue here I believe. Zero distant fog. It's very apparent when looking at the city.
No other mods installed that add ini files.
Got this:
Looks better to me, probably a performance difference though.

i have tried several performance mods but nothing has ever came close to this one.
endorsed, GREAT MOD!
What mod variation are you talking about? The 0.77 main or the Potato PC one?
What are your game settings? Screen resolution?
Your system info will help me making the description more accurate.
0.77, playing in 3440x1440, all settings on max
