From version 1.5 onward, this mod supports Native Settings UI and allows you to use its menu to easily change the configurations.
If you don't have Native Settings UI installed, and you don't want to use it, you can still use this mod but will need to use a text editor (and close/open the game) to change its options. You can do so by opening the "config.reds" file and changing the specific, highlighted, words to either true or false:
HI Seijax, When updating your mod(s), do we need to remove the old version and replace it with the new one, or can we drag and drop and just overwrite the old one?
So long as there aren't new menu options added, you can just overwrite. If the settings start looking weird, deleting the settings.json file is gonna fix that too
The new update has completely borked my game. It goes CTD the moment I try to boot it up. Can't even get to the main menu. The moment I disable the mod, game resumes normally. Sadly, that's as far as testing can go because I removed the previous version (which DID work fine) and cannot roll back to see if it's a me problem or mod problem.
So for the time being, I have to disable this mode entirely.
Edit: If I had to guess, it's less about "compatibility" and more "If you don't have Limited HUD, I crash" kind of problem.
I'm seeing a lot of outdated mods, even if none are in direct conflict with this one. A clean test with and without LHUD has it working as intended in both cases, which is the only difference from previous version
Well, I can't explain it any further than this. I disabled the mod, game runs just fine. I put in the mod, game doesn't even load. The other things just have slightly outdated commands, but the mods they go to work fine.
Any chance you can upload 3.4.0 so I can test a bit further?
I really want to like this mod, as it is quite helpful in spirit.
But I am partly color-blind and the red--->green coloration is completely in that portion of the spectrum that makes visual cueing quite difficult for someone like me.
Would you ever consider an optional file that perhaps changes it to a yellow--->blue coloration instead?
Added an Optional File that does a yellow->blue recolor. It will overwrite the "Invisible Line" Optional File too (which was the color-unrelated option)
Been using this mod for a while and I love it. However, I recently learned how to increase the number of ricochets (or bounces) and the preview will only give the one that'll hit the target. Any chance it can be extended to see the entire trajectory? Unless it's because I use the invisible version of the mod?
Don't know what curse that Ricochet tab has but I have a similar problem with Borg Malorian not showing up in the Ricochet tab (but working nonetheless) unless I rename the MalorianBorg folder (in the CET mods folder) to zMalorianBorg. So you may try to rename the KeepDrawingTheLine folder there to zKeepDrawingTheLine, it might show up in the Ricochet tab...
@Seijax, you may want to reach out to the CET team and/or KeanuWheeze for this weird issue is most likely an edge case bug with their mod(s)
I have the same problem, even though I meet all the requirements. I have all three mods installed (Ricochet Redux, Keep Drawing The Line, and Borg Malorian Restored), but Keep Drawing The Line consistently refuses to appear in the settings menu, even after a clean reinstall. I think this is an edge case with CET - multiple mods are trying to initialize the same category ("/Ricochet") simultaneously in the settings menu, which causes a failure. Renaming the directory fixes it (for me also) because it changes the initialization order. There's likely a thread synchronization issue, as this happens randomly for some people and may depend on the number of other CET mods installed.
Thank you so much. If I set to 15 degree and 0% extra dmg, does Kongou still have its vanilla buffs? Or is that completely replaced by the following? Kongou: +1 Ricochet, Ricochet Preview, + Fire Rate, + Critical Chance, + Ricochet Critical Chance, - Recoil, - Magazine Size.
Kongou has an iconic modifier that allows its user to take advantage of the ricochet technology without having the Ballistic Coprocessorcyberware implant installed, causing the weapon's projectiles to ricochet one additional time and have a 25° increased search angle.
For some reason neither this mod nor Ricochet Redux appear in the Native Settings UI. I’m unsure what the cause is because Virtual Atelier, They Will Remember, Dark Future, and First Time Equip all appear without an issue. I have tried only enabling one at a time and nothing seems to be incompatible, even gave NSUI a reinstall too
With that setting, when out of combat, it will show up only while aiming. If you don't want it to show all the time, when in combat, then you have no business installing the main file.
Always active + Invisible Standby Line is usually the best of both worlds, but if you're adamant about only wanting it while ADS then this mod isn't for you
sop ignore what i said about itr being the OS. ill be playing the game mod works fine for say 20 or so min then bam out of no where it stopped working. i can try to show you mods i have running if needed as there isnt many of them and it appears to work again when i re launch the game sooo
soo from what i can tell there are some power pistols that this mod just breaks on for some reason, no clue why kongou power pistol mainly it seems to break when driving idk about a car but a bike it does. soo ya needs to be fixed as in all power weapons on this mod break when you drive the exit the vehicle the only fix is to un equip them and re - equip them
With your Mod, the Riccochet Marker completely dissapears, only happens if an enemy is around it kinda locks onto the enemy, any idea how to deactivate that auto-aim riccochet? if i aim with my guns, i dont have any markers at all, they just appear to be there if the angle is right to hit the enemy
The preview not cluttering your screen, while the ricochet wouldn't hit anything, is by design. Ricochet having a tolerance, inside which it snaps to target, is vanilla behaviour that has nothing to do with this mod. Easily removable, but you might as well unequip the Ballistic Coprocessor, as that's a faster way to accomplish the same result. If you want a middle ground, use that slider in Ricochet Redux's settings (that you passed right over in order to scroll down) to set it to the minimum.
In the clip you didn't fire while aiming. Do you have a mod that re-enables wallpiercing while aiming, on that Malorian? That would hide the preview of a ricochet that wouldn't happen.
Dont have any mods directing the Malorian at all, but it doesnt show trajectory for any weapon, even if i aim down sight :> It still ricochets, even with the malorian, but i cant see the trajectory when aiming down sight :(
Works fine even with Silencer, still no trajectory visible. Possible that any HUD has to be enabled for trajectory to be visible? have a lot of custom HUD mods, deactivating kinda everything HUD wise
Ye, besides your mod i dont have any mods addressing the malo. And your Mod doesnt work properly ;) Or is it meant that i never see the line?^^ Except there is an Enemy with me in Combat, unless i would hit him, totally takes me the possibility or the need to aim at all.
As already explained, and in line with the videos and pics you posted, all my mods work properly and as intended. If your problem is that you want less lenient angles for ricochets, then you have a customizable setting to change it as you like. If you'd rather the preview behaved like when you don't have this mod, you can uninstall it.
I think i nearly got it, it was a old, outdated config file in a mod collection what caused that. BUT now i got the issue that i can see everything just fine besides aiming down Jonnys Revolver :( everything else just works fine, even with hip firing jonnys rev, any idea where this comes from? tried it with the Malorian Mods activated/deactivated :o
Author, thank you very much for the mod. Can I ask you, I just don't know who else to ask, is it possible to somehow change the green color of the line? Is there a setting for this somewhere in the game files? Might there be some line in on ricochet_weapon_snap.effect or ricochet.effect ? I will be very glad to receive your answer.

Because there are checks in place to handle presence/absence of LHUD, and this mod does nothing until you equip a ranged weapon

Turns out it was an incompatibility issue with Immersive Sidearm ADS.
Any chance for a patch?

Thank you very much! I'm going to install this and try it out asap!
Make sure you have the requirements for that update

1) Is there any way to make the ricochet line more visible? For example by changing the color so it's not dark red.
2) Do you whether this statement from the wiki is still accurate? Because the cyberware description only says "increased ricochet chance".
2) Yes, it's 5% (base) + 95% (cyberware)
What values do I need to set so the ricochet mechanics is the same as vanilla (ie. what are the default values)? I only want the visual improvement.
I do not see any such effect from this mod.

If the preview stops showing, aim.
Fixed

If you can't see the trajectory, with this mod, is because the ricochet wouldn't happen or it wouldn't hit anything.
