If you happen to find a weird bug/glitch, please post your report HERE

Please include the following in your report:

    • PC specs (CPU, GPU, RAM, HDD/SSD)
    • All files installed (main/optional)
    • As much detail as possible about your issue

If you (somehow) get lower FPS with this mod (really shouldn't happen), don't report as a bug, but instead leave a comment here and I will try to help you with your particular situation...

This has become the best crowd mod for the game; I think the driving variant actually helps the game feel more dystopian too for how unpredictable and reckless some of the cars can be haha.

Is this different to CDPR's Astonishing Crowd Density which enables the vanilla game's setting? Are the two compatible?

Yes, it is different and yes they are compatible... This mod basically makes NPCs behave a bit more naturally while also improving CPU performance... It doesn't really affect densities on it's own (the Lower/Increased Density addons will not work with the "Astonishing" setting, though, but also won't conflict with it)...

      Editing because I stickied:

The only mods that this should fully conflict with are other mods that affect NPC behavior, such as "NC Ambient NPCs" or "Alternate Crowd Behavior and Tweaks", for example (they will probably "work", but who knows which values will be used from which mod)... Mods that increase or reduce density are most likely compatible if that's all they do... Other mods that may cause issues include things like LOD tweaks, though they aren't technically incompatible... Some performance tweaks could also cause issues, so I'd recommend only using ones made by me that are verified to be compatible (though feel free to try whatever... Shouldn't break anything)...

Is it possible to increase only the traffic (vehicles) density without increasing the crowd density, and if so could someone tell me how to do that?
The reason im asking because I feel like the roads are quite empty, and I dont want to use the all in one crowd increase mod because that will tank my fps

This isn't incompatible with any mods. It may have some conflicting values with some other ini tweaks, but nothing that would cause any issues for either (this or any conflicting mod).

Anyone else having the issue of the same npc with the same car honking without stopping?
Often, when I just stand there next to the street (because Im for example talking on the phone irl or go to the toilet) and leave the game running, the game tends to spawn a Mizutani Shion with a female npc behind the wheel pressing the horn constantly for no reason, and often the they just stand there in the middle of the road and dont drive along without me interacting with them in any way, sometimes they do drive along though.
Anyone else had that? Not a deal breaker, but so goddamn annoying as I sometimes like to leave the game running intentionally to listen to the radio while Im wearing my wireless headset being afk. And then this fkin b*tch in her Shion shows up and goes HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK.
Had this enough time to notice a regularity behind it, but it doesnt always happen.

That's a game bug that's been around since like v1.6 or so

Hi, the ini runs well in crowd. However while driving very fast, it starts to micro stutter much more with this ini than without, slightly choppy. Trying to identificate which values are the culprits.

i think it's related to this MaxEntriesPerPage =, by removing it or setting it to 16, the game also seems faster to start up/ more reactive on load screen... or i'm just dumb and it's placebo.

    edit:
    MaxEntriesPerPage = 8
    PoolBudgetKB = 4096
thoses are the originals, It could be entirely disconnected but! it looks like it needs 512kb per entries. In your settings, they dont have this much, it could be detrimental...  for 16K it should be limited to 32 entries, but even then , i have no idea if it improves performance, it may also be related to the CPU cache, if it's the limiting factor, too much will be detrimental, the pool will be fragmented, better to have multiple pools contiguous than one big that needs to be split, slowing down the operations.

it also depends on the number of bits allowed on the max entries per page, the max could be simply 8, 16 or 32

with that theory , i will try 64 / 32768 on my 5800x3d with 96mb cache.... who knows.

edit: so max entries acts as a limiter to avoid too long time on a single streaming cycle if there is many things to load, not directly related to pool, even if a too low pool compared to the number of entries will be a problem (but beyond a threshold, that wont happen, unless on loading screens). It also seems related to LOD.

Too high page without enough pool will stutter

16 or 32 for max entries seems fine, 64 was ok with enough pool but that depends on cpu and also on the scenes, the behaviour changes depending on the streamed content, taxing cpu, it's a balance between cpu performance, stutter and poppin i guess?

Also, going too high on max entries induce micro stutter when moving camera left right fast, for example a full 360 in a single sweep,  depending on the number of items to load and their LOD complexity. 8 is a conservative number but it avoids that.

Can confirm that reducing MaxEntriesPerPage to 32 makes the game run much better. I am on 5800x, 6600XT and 16 GB RAM

I made this change and vehicle traffic definitely has improved. No hitching and fewer 'stalled' cars.

Instantly noticed a more vibrant city population without any noticeable FPS hit. Outstanding work.

Hi, could you advise what parameters in the .ini are used to change the mod's description of NPCs spawn farther away and are less likely to spawn in view ? Thank you.

TheManualEnhancer What happened to the PsychoCrowds3-Slightly Increased DensityAddon and the other addon files? Are they no longer working?

Does this work for patch 2.2.1? I have about 50+ mods and the area behind Tom’s diner, stairs by h10 building have been killing frames to practically none

Yeah, this still works in 2.21... Depending on whether you're more CPU or GPU limited, it may or may not help with FPS (more likely to help in CPU-limited scenarios), but either way, it won't hurt performance...

That spot kills fps for me too, crowd density on high was too much I guess.

if you have a 4000 series gpu use the frame generation dlss. It made my performance smoother in those areas I had noticed it on my last playthrough.
  14. well just edited the speed factor out of the balls out edition as not long after putting this mod (and quite a few other about cars/driving (some that I removed as it seems to mess up too much with some car)) I just see traffic crashing into each other everywhere... so hopefully it's just that they are too fast and can't brake or smth...
