If I'm using the RT+PT version of Ultra Plus I will still need the Non-PT file for this right? I assume so because even though it has some of the effects of PT as far as the game is concerned only RT is turned on. Is that correct?

    Hi!
Love your mod, but i thought maybe u could add some amount of blur to the shadows?
They look a bit too clear and sharp if u consider the height they fly at, and size compared to the disk of the sun

    Thanks in advance!

Just to make sure, if I am NOT using Path Tracing, I just need the optional, right?

      Wrong. You need both :
      - Main file contains the actual assets (whatever they are to achieve the projection - so you obviously need them) + a setting making it only be used with PT
      - Optional file will override that setting from the main file and set it to be used whatever the rendering technique is.

That's what I understand is happening basically but please correct me if I'm wrong @sosuine

With the optional file, if you're playing with pure raster, then you won't be able to see the extended light beams from Kurt Hansen's Cargo reach the ground.
I think you have to turn on raytraced lighting for that to work.

As you can see in the image below, nothing happens with no raytracing (sorry, I don't know how to make an image appear right in the comments section).

Ah! Ok, thank you so much for the clarification.

I need to keep playing the game until the cargo isn't that high anymore.
      Thanks a lot!

Is there any point to installing this if I'm using path tracing?

I guess there wasn't before. But with the latest addition: Absolutely. :)

I play on raster, does this mean that I only need to use the optional file and ignore the main file?

Light leaking through objects, happens a lot with hybrid RT.

If I'm on Raster this has no effect for me?

Happens also with PT actually, some buildings don't seem to have consistent roof occlusion so Kurt's Cargo lights will sometimes leak through but imo, whatever the rendering technique, the mood it gives is worth this trade-off (which you won't always notice anyway)

Kurt's Cargo lights look even better from the sides and the blasts are so immersive.. I can't thank you enough for this ! :)
And no performance impact with those god rays, it's wonderful. I'll admit I was thinking of a tad warmer color temperature but it's consistent with the one CDPR went for with vanilla so no complain about that. I'll rather go complain to them for the missing light beams of NC's cargos ;)

    Thank youuuuu !

PS: Happy birthday to your mod

I'm mostly playing with Path Tracing on but I'd rather have those lights regardless of rendering technique, can I install both archives or should I stick with previous version ?

I have the same doubts. Should choose one or go with the two files?
