Can confirm this still works after patch 2.12. I had tried this mod a long time ago and never got it to run for me. The cause was me using an older controller. I bought a new controller, started playing CP2077 again after PL came out, and was desperate to try this mod again. This is the ONLY mod I've found that actually improves handling for controllers. (Follow the instructions EXACTLY!)
Thanks for the detailed instructions. I got this set up nicely. And Kudos to you - I can actually drive a vehicle in the game now, without 'kangaroo hopping!' Working on 2.12a, using PC, Win10Pro.
Hello,i can't launch "XInputPlus.exe",i get application error - "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled" ( i tried run as administrator), maybe You know what's up and the solution?
A question. Maybe not exactly about this particular mod but I need someone to explain this. So I tried a PS4 controller (on a PC) for driving and the acceleration/deceleration is done with L2/R2 like pedals on a car, I assume this is intentional but is there a way to remap it to left stick forward and backwards? This is just so much more convenient when you have one stick for vehicle control and one for camera control instead of two sticks and two triggers. Any advice?
Unfortunately this can't be done within Xinput Plus, I see you can only swap certain buttons with each other. But you can do it within the x360ce app which is also free
I see thanks. Though I do not use any additional software as of now because it (surprisingly enough) worked just out of the box. And frankly by now I kinda got almost used to that "two pedals" scheme. On the other hand out of the box the handling is a bit jerky for a controller, which I assume the purpose of this mod is?
Had to play with it a bit because it would cause ctd on launch. I started loading the files one by one, and finally found the cause. For whatever reason, I can't run XInput9_1_0 or it crashes. Will it make a difference to run this without XInput9_1_0?
Hi, sorry for late reply. I'm not sure if it will make a difference, but as long as you hear the beep sound when you start the game it would mean it works.
Sadly, without XInput9_1_0, it doesn't seem to work. I think the issue is my controller. I bought it like 10 years ago and never used it until Cyberpunk came out. I think I'm going to buy a newer one and retry the mod.
Hey there! Firstly, thank you so much for your efforts. I actually had no idea that vehicle handling settings didn't apply to controllers. Now... things make a lot of sense.
A question for you.. I launch Cyberpunk via RedLauncher because of my mods. I'm pretty sure RedLaucher is just invoking the cyberpunk exe but I just wanted to double check if, I should be doing anyting different?
I don't use RedLauncher, but it should work because as soon as the Cyberpunk2077.exe is launched it automatically loads the Xinput. It should make a beep sound as soon as you launch the game.
None yet, sorry. I only started playing Cyberpunk a few days ago and I'm still playing the unmodded vanilla game, so I have no idea which mods it does and doesn't work with. I will do some tests with RedLauncher when I have time, to see if it crashes cause of RedLauncher or perhaps cause of a certain mod you are using. I have used Xinput Plus on many different games, modded and unmodded, and never encountered even a single problem. If you downloaded and installed any other mods at the same time as mine, then temporarily uninstall those mods first and see if it still crashes cause it could perhaps be a problem with a new mod that causes crashing.
@Yor53, as long as it works on PC, this should work as controllers relies on xinput to work on PC. This is basically just modifying the xinput with the app. And thanks, lemme know if it works or if there are any problems. The more info I can get on this the better, then I could update the description to add info that would be helpful to others.
Try to make the files yourself then and see if it works, it's easy to make. Make 1 file where you swap the Left stick with the Dpad, then you make another main file where you keep everything as is and load the swapped buttons file in the Buttons > Switch Settings menu.
But before all that, first go to Settings > Dll Files, disable all the Xinput files and enable them one by one. It could be that the Playstation controller don't support some of these Xinput files, for example Xinput9_1_0.dll or Xinput1_1.dll or so, and cause the game to crash.
I have no idea, sorry. I only started playing Cyberpunk a few days ago and I'm still playing the unmodded vanilla game, so I'm not sure which mods it does or doesn't work with. However, I have used Xinput Plus on various games, modded or unmodded, and it never gave me any problems.
I've tried a couple of mods that were supposed to improve driving for people who use controllers, but they really didn't help much, if at all. I'm hoping this will. Thanks for this!
It definitely will, I promise. All other mods I've found are only for keyboards, not a single one of them works for us that plays on controllers. Xinput Plus is an absolute beast of an app. Have fun :)

Now I don't dread doing Beast In Me...
