ABOUT UPDATE 1.5 The 1.5 update for this mod is ready! However WolvenKit is not, so the game won't launch with modified .inkwidget files (the only file this mod changes).
Either wait patiently or go bug the WolvenKit guys, but I'd suggest you don't do that considering all the good work they did for this community basically for free, they owe nothing to us.
WolvenKit is not the issue, this seems to be a problem with the game engine. The legend himself, rfuzzo, is investigating the issue and there is an open internal bug ticket for this issue. Only a matter of time now, hopefully.
So actually looks like it was an issue on both ends: WolvenKit did not package .inkwidget files correctly, but before 1.5 the game still loaded them because it skipped a check that it should have done (I don't have the full details, but this is the best assumption I can make as to what is happening). WolvenKit has received an update that fixes the crashing issue, BUT OLDER MODS WILL NEED TO BE REPACKAGED (the issue was in the packing process, so if something is already packaged with an older version it will need to be extracted and repacked). I have no clue if the old behavior will be restored via a game update to support badly packaged mods as a way of backwards compatibility, but rfuzzo did manage to fix the issue in the game engine so it is a possibility.
Right now the crashing issue is fixed, but for some reason the changes I make to the minimap file don't show up in game. Maybe something changed with the minimap file in 1.5, or maybe the WolvenKit update simply fixed crashing but not the loading of .inkwidget files. I am still testing and investigating.
Turns out that for whatever reason 1.5 inkwidget files can now be repacked, but the changes do not show ingame. For the time being I updated the mod with minimap.inkwidget from patch 1.3. This means that the new cursor feature for controller might not work properly. When 1.5 inkwidgets start working I will update again to fix this.
Welp, I had not noticed this in testing but it looks like another side effect of the 1.5 inkwidgets being broken is that the wayping path is now invisible... this is outside my reach for now sadly, again will update when it is possible to be fixed.
ABOUT THE MINIMAP GLITCHES With CET 1.14.0 and later the minimap flickering can be fixed! 1) Update your CET 2) Go to its Settings 3) Enable "Fix Minimap Flicker" option 4) Click "Save" 5) Restart the game
The minimap content not loading far away can be fixed with DistanceFix, however this fix is very inconsistent and on some systems it can cause severe rendering issues. I suggest you try it and remove it if you run into problems.
As of today, this mod removes the guidelines the vanilla mini map provides when on a quest. I can also confirm it is causing an issue with crackling/popping/clipping sounds at random intervals. I spent about 2 hours having it installed and uninstalled at various points to test the theory. Confirmed this needs a major update. It works as intended, but the pros don't outweigh the cons.
Dude, it's like that for a week I sat and thought what the hell is my sound farting, I double-checked everything, turned off this mod and oh my God, the sound no longer farts and does not groan
I'm having a problem with all the sound on my in0game TVs vanishing. The fact that a minimap mod can cause sound problems makes me think maybe I ought to replace my RL dishwasher to try to fix it since CDPR apparently hired an octopus to program this game.
Appeared to be working but for some reason it gets rid of the guidance system / route planner so you know where to go exactly to get to some quests etc :(
I've been having this same issue. -- Minimap mod itself works fine and the 'world map' shows the route / navigation path when you set a point, but when you look at the minimap, it doesn't show the navigation for some reason.
Sure we have it natively dynamic now, however there is still customization to be had that this mod did nicely. So i stay curious if the creator is planning to work with it for 2.0
The mod has been broken since 1.5, so any customization is kinda moot.
Unfortunately, the mod author hasn't made this very apparent in the description. It's easily missed if you skim read, leading to multiple bug reports and people still trying to use it today despite linking to a more compatible mod.
Tip: If you want something to stand out, make it stand out.

WolvenKit.CLI (formerly CP77Tools) is now bundled with the Installer, no need to download it separately!
you're breathtaking
It now includes a dynamic mini map
