Update: You can now additionally install the optional Atelier Store file & purchase the items through that. I haven't added these to vendors in the game yet & might not. If you want them immediately, use these commands from the CET console:
Re-wrote the code & added global values at the top of the file with descriptions to allow for easier & safer personalization. All necessary math is handled in the rest of the code so you only need to change those simple values to make edits. The descriptions will update automatically. Be aware that using values that break your save is on you.
Increased the default buffer sizes of the Origin & Maxima to 11 & 15 respectively. With the +1 to buffer size provided by a related perk, they actually cap at 12 & 16.
Quick Fix: Maxima's max slots count corrected. Please re-download if it's no longer set at 17 in your version.
Version 1.0.2
Origin Ability Added: Quickhacking a pinged enemy refreshes Ping duration.
Maxima Ability Added: Quickhacking a pinged enemy refreshes Ping duration.
Version 1.0.1
Origin Ability Added: Increases the time it takes for an enemy netrunner to hack you by 100%.
Maxima Ability Added: Increases the time it takes for an enemy netrunner to hack you by 200%.
Before anyone asks about it, the one thing you cannot edit at the top of the file after v1.0.3 is max slot values & that is indeed on purpose. DON'T ASK ABOUT IT!
I haven't made it very far in-game yet so can't fully test these. I'd appreciate if you guys can report back on how well they work.
Please understand these key things about these cyberdecks:
1. I made these to give us the potential to equip most & even all quickhacks, but it does not mean you have to use all them all at once. I will not lessen the number of slots so DO NOT ASK THAT! The slots themselves do nothing!
2. I hold no responsibility for how quickhacks interact with one another & whatever quirks they create. These decks are unlikely to ever be directly related to any game bugs. Bugs involving them would likely only be related to whether the values & effects apply correctly.
3. The items themselves are meant to simulate having the best cyberdecks in the game equipped all at once. I tried not to greatly exceed maximum values already used in the game by other cyberdecks. The highest typical value used by any in the vanilla game is 75% so that's what the Maxima sports across the board. Origin is the more balanced version. Didn't wanna overkill values by just setting them to 100% & end up nerfing the gameplay experience as if activating another layer of God Mode.
4. I don't mind making additions and/or changes that seem reasonable & useful to me. Beyond that, you're free to make your own edits for personal use. Just understand that if you edit & break something like your save in the worse case scenario then it won't be on me. At some point I may make it easier to edit so you guys can avoid breaking things but I make no promises. That has already happened via v1.0.3 & beyond.
This is the current text for both include items this mod gives if any of you want to tackle translating it better than google translate did. I can easily insert translations into the corresponding files & repackage the archive so feel free to post them or message them to me. Anything already properly translated will be mentioned in the description tab but you can still make suggestions if something doesn't seem like the best translation to you. Suggested synonyms for "Psychotech" would ideally be: Psychotechnology, Insane Technology, Crazy Technology, Mental Technology, etc.
Psychotech Origin
A one of a kind & highly experimental model of cyberdeck also known as the "Psychodeck". Originally part of an underground military project, every subject this AI supported cyberdeck has been installed into has fallen victim to cyberpsychosis. It has since made its way around the black market as a cursed item & finally into your hands. Will you be the exception?
Psychotech Maxima
After finally finding a suitable host, the Psychodeck's AI has evolved into a sentient conciousness now known as Maxima. To facilitate its host's ongoing survival, Maxima has unlocked the cyberware's full potential at the cost of humanity. Portions of the host's memory have been erased to facilitate additional RAM installation & parallel processing. As you forget who you are, who will you become?
Rather than making update after update whenever a language file gets updated, I've decided to release the language files separately as optional files moving forward. That'll be easier to manage. Just extract the archive to you game directory & let it overwrite the original if you have reason to download it.
Recently had covid, then had a medical procedure that I've been recovering from, which led to a new diagnosis so my days have been a bit full & preoccupied. Haven't abandoned it though.
Probably not anytime soon. I have multiple mods I'm trying to finish & get put out before I go back to working on this. It has the most problems left to fix.
Thought I'd give an update. I've managed to get everything working with the old items & even the new item(s) BUT I ran into a problem. Trying to upgrade the new items causes the game to crash. This is what I've been working on still. Hopefully I find a solution soon.
Hi there! I am really looking forward to see the updated psychodeck! Maybe you can release a version where new items come only in 5++ tier (so there is no need to upgrade) as a temporary solution?
A sneak preview of the new version deck. It's Tier-6 & can be upgraded 6 times(eventually...still working on that). As you see it has a couple unique effects that when fully upgraded give you a major advantage without being too OP. These bonuses increase as you upgrade ir. Each upgrade also adds a new qhack slot, alongside more ram, & +1 to buffer size. It also sports the overclock bonus of all other cyberdecks. Granted this cyberdeck makes it harder to overclock thanks to the massive boost to cyberware capacity, but you get a lot from it once you do have enough installed to trigger it. The original versions will also return in working order, but this is meant to be the progression based one that ties to the lore. Get excited! :P
I've nerfed the cyberdecks a bit since the last update. It now has its own overclock ability rather than all of them & it also increases perk points so that you can max out both your attributes & perks at level 60 with a fully upgraded Psychodeck installed. There's also a built in Cyberpsychosis debuff now as well that makes using it a bit risky at times. I've also added some other very interesting stuff too including an exclusive, & even more OP version of the Blackwall quickhack if you guys can wrap your heads around that. Won't reveal how it works just yet , but it's a "Well damn..." reaction sort of thing. There's core game changes included now too. You guys will also be able to create Infamous tier items, recipes, & materials of your own(red like my Evo). May be taking a while to finish, but it's way more than what it used to be.
Will we be able to disable the debuff, for those of us who just like being OP as hell with no repercussions? I don't mind if it's done by (un)setting a flag in a lua script, but I'd rather not have to go digging through the code to track down where the debuff is applied in order to snip it out, and I would prefer to not have it happen.
A version that makes all quickhacks spread would be pretty awesome. Being able to cast Reboot Optics once and waltz through a room full of blinded enemies would be pretty fun. And seeing Detonate Grenade pop up on everyone around would leave me cackling like a madman...
I will say that the core coding that adds the slots still works pretty well, because I adapted it into the better Canto mod that is floating around Nexus with only a bit of work. The only thing I needed to do was up the slots by one to deal with the Blackwall quickhack and add the logic to add the iconic quickhacks as available options for the extra slots. None of it is my original code so I'm obviously not releasing it but I just wanted to let you know that the core of this looks pretty close to being ready as is.
