BTW, if you are having problems with flickering, you can fix it without losing the sharpness by setting the sharpness value according to the formula:

    Sharpness = -log_2( DLSS Scale Factor )

    The DLSS Scale factors are:

    Quality: 2/3
    Balanced: 0.58
    Performance: 0.5
    Ultra performance: 1/3

    -----

So for DLSS quality at 1440p, it is:

    -log_2( 2/3 ) = 0.5849625

So you put Sharpness = 0.5849625 in your ini file.

    -----

To calculate it you can put it in wolfram alpha.

It's important to use enough decimal places to remove rounding error, because that's what causes the flickering.

This formula comes from NVIDIA's recommended mip bias (often called LOD bias) for DLSS, which CDPR has not implemented in Cyberpunk.

General flickering or neon sign flickering?

Btw - this fix shouldn't really impact performance, should it?

Hello, I found a way to make this mod works on 1.2.
The problem is simply that, since the patch, the game doesn't read .ini that aren't original game's file.
All you have to do is :

    - go to ...\Cyberpunk 2077\engine\config\platform\pc
    - make a back up of rendering.ini
    - open the original rendering.ini and copy past the content of the mod (without overwriting)

Be aware that this file is susceptible to be reverted back to normal when a new update come out.
After servals hours of game, I didn't encounter any stability problem, so this file is normally safe.
This method also work with other mods that change the game's settings like "Draw Distance Boost".

PS : if you have cyeber engine tweak, you can open se console and type GameOptions.List("DLSS") , to check if the values are good.

Hi. i wasn't aware of this. is this still true? Should i merge settings from user inis with the engine.ini?

My initial impression from testing is that this is not the case, but i am curious..

Is there any chance you'll be able to allow DLSS to work in the inventory screen?

I'm looking for it too. It would be amaizing, DLSS is doing the same shitty job in the inventory. Must be a similar setting to find.

This fix looks great, but it causes my FPS to plummet when looking in the mirror, and the game to stutter. I go from 100+ down into the sub 20's on my RTX 2080 Super with DLSS on Quality.

Finding this mod was a blessing. Was very disappointed in the games resolution until this mod explained how to fix it and the mirrors. Ended up making the ini file that is in the mods description and adjusting it accordingly. Definitely Endorsing this mod, you're a legend.

Edit: My setup is 1440p but the entire game looked like it was playing in 720p.

Hello, the mod doesn't seems to work for me.I tried different value for MirrorScaling (-50, 1, 3, 25 and without the mod), and after many reload of the game, i can't see any differences whatsoever and the quality is blurry and pixelated whenever i move.

I'm playing on 1080*2560 with quality DLSS and i've only got a reshade installed into my game (with the latest patch).

How does this not have more downloads!? This is a game changer and it is not just mirrors, although they do get the most obvious quality boost. However, the mirrors are very demanding in this game for some reason and on my RTX 2060 Super DLSS performance (upscales to 1080p) I suffered a ~73 to ~50 hit to my fps with "MirrorScaling = 1"and that's in V's apartement. Of course, this is the game's issue, not this mod's. But, you can scale below 1.00000 and still have way better looking mirrors, I'm currently running at 0,65 and it's only ever so slightly softer than when it's at 1 and certainly miles ahead of what the default -1 value gives you. That scaling factor (0,65) lets me hang around ~60 fps when looking in the mirror. So if you find the scaling value of 1 to be too much of a performance hit on your system, do scale it down to whatever value below 1 that'll produce a satisfying result in image quality/performance for your liking :)

      Spoiler:
      Show

Yep i can confirm the flickering dont go away (before i set it to 0 that worked quite a time but after a few hours... well) after uninstall this mod. It is a nice touch for the mirror and all... but... that flickering is bothering me like hell man...

Updating: Reinstall the game, with deleting cache and so on doesnt fix the issue! Something really interrupt the DLSS Alhorythmus or so... i dunno i'm no programmer, if someone have a fix pls tell me!

Yes i did this and it worked a few hours like i said. But after that... i dunno if DLSS said "hey that is a good setting"or whateevr (deep lerarning software after all) It screws up my game comepletly. It isnt playable anymore. All started by deinstall that mod after maybe 10-20 hours gameplay time... i tried to fix it by install the mod agian with the settings sharpness = 0.00000 but nope.

Flickering persist. And the Game starts more and more lagging... for no reason really. DLSS is screwed (it feels like it) like i said... reinstall the game (without mods) didnt fix the issue later. A friend of mine have now the same problems after installing this Mod... it seems this DLSS Mod have huge problems in long term or so. :( Maybe investigate it further...

      I have a 2080 TI
      AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X
      32gbram
      ALL on a SSD

      EDIT:

Okay i fix the performence issues... by simple use the ini and DELETE the line Sharpness = 0.000000 completly... just change it to zero makes everything stutter (weird huh?) but the flickering still exist :(

nothing to do with DLSS, the issue after long time of playing is because of memory leak issue, not DLSS.
I use the mod and see no issue with a RTX 3070 FE.
Maybe it's because of the RT core of the 20xx series who doesn't work the same ?
Did you use NVIDIA's global image sharpening in Nvidia settings tab ?

Yes totaly sure, after your message i wasn't so i tried to launch somewhere with many light reflect and tiny object like bottle, glass etc, the Bar when your start as a Street Kid.
I see what you talk about because i have see in videos what it look like, it's like if there is light reflected by an object who flicker very bright on and off fast when you move and in with a special angle stay bright, is that it ?

But i don't have the issue you have and this place, the bar, is perfect to test this.

Maybe i have some other mod to counter this effect of my settings make this less noticeable or... i don't know, but i don't have this light flickering effect.

1st i am using the Mod from Yamachi who patched some issue with 6core CPU for example, it's patched on the game from dev but this tool mod still give some nice options like skip the intro, console, etc.

      - Custom Eye Colors (green)
      - Playstation Prompt cyberfix
      - Better cascade shadows
      - Controller edit
      - Better Vehicle Handling
      - DLSS Mirror Fix and DLSS Sharpness

but those mod can't have impact on DLSS, exepet this mod of course. I change some options in Nvidia like texutre on ultra performance (more fps without visual change, impossible to see the diference), power management to maximum performance.
I made nvidia rendering maximum 130fps and not more for Gsync et avoid Coil whin in menuing.
I used Nvidia inspector to set LOD Bias to "clamp" to remove the flickering effect on fence, grid, etc that we can see in DLSS balanced, performance or lower but that isn't very noticable in quality and not at all with DLSS Off + TAA.
I using game mode in win 10 and gpu accelration shedul.
I don't have any  anti virus software and i desactivated every virus protection from windows and removed all the bloatware.

I maybe miss something but... i don't know what, i don't think this will help you... sorry.
