    Hey there, firstly thanks for this mod, it has been incredibly useful. I seem to be having an issue however; It worked fine until yesterday when the game suddenly wouldn't launch. I did a clean install and the game now launches, but the mod gives this error

    "REDScript compilation has failed.
    This error has bee cause by mods listed below:
    - NamedSaves
    You should check if these mods are outdated and update them if possible."
    etc. etc.

    Yes, your worst fears confirmed, new update came and broke mods across the board. CDPR definitely intends to keep working on this game until it is perfect as can be. They didn't even add new content for this update which angers me.

    Stopped working for me and even with latest update saves still don't have names on them. Not sure why, it was working a while back for me.

    Seems not to be compatible with latest version of RED4ext and there are also some errors in Native.reds.

      I have been modding games since I became a member here and have the relevant experience. I know what I'm doing. All other mods that you can see in the error message work again after updating, only NamedSaves is still causing problems for me.

      Well I can do nothing here then, your mods setup is screwed up so check red4ext log for a start.

      No, it isn't. All other mods are working as expected.

      EDIT: Nevermind, I found what was causing the issue. I tested befor Mod Settings got updated. Now also your mod is working as expected. Sorry for the inconvenience

      Yes it is, your error message screen mentions at least three mods which do not work so check red4ext and redscript logs.

      As I noted in my edit before. The requirement for Mod Settings was causing the issue. But there was no update for mod settings as you published your mod update. From my point of view the mod should also work without mod settings or should not prevent the game from starting if mod settings is missing. I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to programming and scripting, but it should be possible to check whether mod settings is available and if not to set the switch used to on.

    Another update coming to break this mod and all others, CDPR apparently found several issues, hangups, glitches and bugs that they fixed and that fix is coming this week, they aren't even adding new content so its basically a patch. Apparently they'll continue updating Cyberpunk 2077 until the next Witcher game releases from what I'm seeing not that they said they would do this as their plan.

    I can get this to work for 2.1... but only temporarily. The names don't seem to stick, and not in a way I can predict. When I close the game, sometimes one manual save description will stay, sometimes another. Hopped in to play this morning, and there were no save descriptions. I really really wish CDPR had made an actual way to differentiate between save characters, like Skyrim (or a million other games).

      It is wild they never considered this in all their games like the red engine is only capable of save styles from the old arcade days, that to me is an outdated thing as you say every game in existence has this. The only exception is Dishonored which also doesn't have named saves. Best way to distinguish is to face some unique item, visual or object and save there.

      No ideas tbh, the mod just checks all folders inside saved games path (which is C:\Users\<UserName>\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red), reads all folders from there and finds the one which has the newest update date to create NamedSave.txt file inside

      I have the same problem. Got this to work but noticed a few days later the name is gone.
      Could it be a problem with cloud save files? because the latest save also gets synced to cloud.
      Im gonna try this out.

      I been getting this alot. Something is randomly deleting the NamedSave.txt file. My NamedSaved.txt file was gone after exiting the game. Thought it was maybe steam cloud messing it up, so disabled the feature in steam. Manually replaced the NamedSave.txt file in the folder. Fired up the game, loaded my save (the description was there). Played for a few minutes then saved (description is still there). Exited the game, looked in the save folder and the NamedSave.txt file was gone.

      Think i figured it out.

      Don't save when the edit box is empty. The box defaults to empty when you restart the game. You think it's fine to save like this because the label will still show on your save after doing so, but behind the scenes the NamedSave.txt file gets deleted.. and you won't realize it until you've restarted the game and see no label for your save.

      Maybe it can auto fill the edit box when a save is loaded, or have the mod just ignore an empty text box instead of deleting the NamedSave.txt file. No-one wants to retype their save name everytime they restart the game or switch to a different save.

      No idea what do you mean tbh, empty text box is a normal case because not all saves have to be named. And if you mean the case with creating a save over existing one its not supported by default.

      So this
      Don't save when the edit box is empty
      does not make sense, save as you like just always make a new save.

      Yeah, I meant don't save over an existing save while the text box is empty.  The issue is that it's not apparent you are deleting your label by doing that, because if you go to the load game screen the custom label is still there. Only until you restart the game, will you see that the name is gone. That's what has people confused.

      I and the others were confused by this issue, because we have ONE manual save per character and overwrite it when done playing that session. And since the label isn't immediately cleared, we think everything is ok (until we restart the game).

    I am having no issues with this mod at all. It works great and really helps with organizing my playthroughs so that I don't accidentally overwrite something by mistake. I use it in tandem with Filter Saves by Lifepath and Type and they work great together. As a side note I also have cloud syncing in the game turned off. Love it. Very useful. Endorsed.
