    AS OF 1.5+, THIS MOD HAS MINIMAL BENEFIT FOR MOST
    LEAVING IT HERE FOR THOSE FEW WHO SEE BENEFITS...

    • ONLY INSTALL ONE LOD PATCH AT A TIME!!!

    Parameters Affected:

    • Background/Regular Distance: seem to work well for your average environmental stuff.
    • Cinematic: use if characters have vanishing bodies/clothes at distance (such as with my alternate clothes mods)
    • Vehicle vs Cinematic Vehicle: governs the cars at distance (2D models) vs up-close (3D models)

    Mod Order/Priority: 

    • Until there is a mod load order manager, the only way to change priority is by changing the actual name of the mod.  
    • Adding a 0 right after "basegame_" will allow that mod to rise to the top of the load order.
    • Mod archives don't even need "basegame" in the title anymore
    • But a lot of modders have kept it for organization.
    • So it really is as simple as alpha-numeric order of the mod names.
    • You just need to choose which mod you want to take priority.
    • However, this only matters if two mods work on the same file.
    • The mod at the TOP always takes priority, as far as I know.

    OLD REDACTED NOTES, NOT USEFUL EXCEPT ON PRE 1.5 PATCH...

    This is based on my play testing, but please feel free to share with any additional testing, information, or clarification.

    • Cinematic only LOD shouldn't cause many FPS drops
    • ALL 10X will hit your CPU/GPU, and noticeably reduce frames if it isn't newer/faster

      • I found sporadic abnormalities with physics on far away objects.
      • Cars and people crashed more, died more, and resulted in random accidents or combat not involving V.  
      • Could have been an engine issue, and findings were subjective, but I had less random nonsense with "All 5X"


    • All 5x doesn't seem to hit the CPU/GPU as bad, but offers many of the improvements at a moderate distance.
    • All 5x or All 10x is likely the setting that most users will prefer.
    • All 5x + Cinematic 10x is a promising setting as well.
    Reported Bugs/Conflicts

    • 20x is reported to cause problems with car chases!
    • Anything approaching or beyond 20x is also reported to potentially cause engine inconsistencies.
    • Weather mods are reported to potentially cause flickering NPCs
    • ReShade can temporarily result in flickering/vanishing models on holograms and NPCs.  Toggling ReShade off/on again is reported to resolve this issue.

      Yeah there was one that was working great updated for PL but it was taken down by the author, maybe because the update conflicted with it in a big way.

    It doesn’t work for me on 2.0, the marking textures on the road and the range of smoke/steam are the same as in the vanilla version 2.0, even with the mod installed.
    Are there any plans to update the mod for version 2.0?

    Then, it means this lod mod doesn't helpful with 1.63 and further update of the game

    can you please add high LOD fences too? in game fences look  very bad at medium distance it only looks right  at very close distance

      even worse with path tracing, the fences shimmer when they are in low res

      It's updated to 1.5, not sure if it would work for 1.6 but go try.

    All parameters set to 10x standard.
    RESOURCE HEAVY! Will drop FPS on older video cards.
    Nvidia GTX 1650 enough old for this? XD

    Does this fix pop in for yourself in the inventory screen if you're usin custom bodies?
