Confirmed to still work with version 2.1 seamlessly.

So, the mod has been updated for the patch 2.0. Enjoy!

P.D. A little aclaration here: Patch 2.0 has somewhat mitigated this circumstance by still being crouched after a dodge action, which was actually what this mod was trying to achieve at its conception, BUT still happens the thing that if you approach someone from the back you can still dash into them by mistake by a double keypress advance, breaking the "grab" action and alerting them and everyone around. So, this mod is still useful to avoid that, and you still can dodge being crouched by pressing the dedicated button.

As said, I also want to dodge with double keypress of the movement keys; it's very useful and easier for me and it avoids having to press *another* key when in combat (together with crouch, sprint...). What this mod avoids is to perform that dodge when it's not necessary (in stealth and non-combat), which can be triggered by mistake alerting everyone.

Cannot believe I have not found this before. This is a game changer for me, I hate having to press a button + direction. Thank you!

Still works for 1.6. This mod is a LITERAL lifesaver. Because I have had to tap walking forward a few times to inch up to a person, and then the game made me dodge towards them and exit stealth, which alerts the entire base... And playing in very hard, this is usually a death sentence.

I have not tested/modified it for 1.5 yet since I'm not playing CP at this moment (lack of time/other games in my queue), but I will try to update it ASAP. Thank you everyone for your feedback!

Seems to work perfectly with 1.5 for me.

Double-tapping a direction while not crouched dodges, doing the same while crouched doesn't dodge. As intended.

@Nauclerus: May I ask what version of redscript you're using? I have tried with both 0.5.0 and 0.5.1 and neither seem to make this mod work.

I was running 0.5.0, but upgraded to 0.5.1 now and it works with that as well.

Just to make sure, I removed "noDodgeWhileCrouching.reds" from the "scripts" folder, and that allowed dodging while crouched again.
Put the file back: dodging disabled while crouched. Definitely working for me, and it's not some other mod that happens to have the same effect.

Could be you have another mod that replaces the "GetMovementDodgeEnabled" method? I would assume it's first-come first-serve in case of conflicts.
You can try navigating to the "scripts" folder, holding Shift, and right-clicking an empty space (not on a file), clicking "Open PowerShell window here", copy
      findstr.exe /s "GetMovementDodgeEnabled" *.reds
right-click inside the PowerShell window, and press the Enter key. It should show a list of the files that include that string (and this, scripts that use that method, though not all of them may replace it).

Thanks for the assist, but I found out what my issue was; just had to uninstall redscript, verify game files and install redscript again, now it works like a charm! I suspect that there was an issue with a bad script compilation or something like that, so the issue was on me, the mod is working fine on version 1.5. Thanks again, choom! :)

Good to read this :) . I just reinstalled CP to play again with the new patch features and I checked that it still works indeed.

Exactly what I was looking for.
It is so annoying to be stealthing and suddenly find myself jumping out of cover awkwardly screaming "SURPRISE!" as if it was their birthday.

    Thank you!
