It works. Just find" <mapping name="Acceleration_Axis" type="Axis" >" and replace everything before mapping with the instructions Step 5. Worked for me 2.01.
Heeyyy, uhh, I'm having an issue with actually adding the code. I go to r6/config and open the XML in Ms Edge but...I can't add the code, or do anything. Anything as in delete or add. Here's a picture of what mine looks like.
I don't like using the left shift button to accelerate. It just feels un-natural; and if we are thinking realistically, resting your pinky on the shift button to keep the car coasting at a constant speed, seems more comfortable and accurate given the fact we use our pinky less than our pointer finger. Could someone switch the buttons around, or tell me what changes to make to fix this?
Hey, I also thought it felt a bit strange so I changed it to what you suggested and it feels really nice. Hope you all enjoy ^~^
Have it like this: (Edited) - Switch the two values <mapping name="Acceleration_Axis" type="Axis" > <button id="IK_Pad_RightTrigger" /> <button id="IK_W" val="1.0" overridableUI="vehicleAccelerate"/> <button id="IK_LShift" val="0.015" overridableUI="vehicleAccelerate"/> </mapping>
Instead of like this: (Original) - keep the two values same as normal <mapping name="Acceleration_Axis" type="Axis" > <button id="IK_Pad_RightTrigger" /> <button id="IK_W" val="0.015" overridableUI="vehicleAccelerate"/> <button id="IK_LShift" val="1.0" overridableUI="vehicleAccelerate"/> </mapping> EDIT: I just figured out that what this is actually doing is using LShift (Edited) as a modifier to slow down whatever you want the car to do.
WASD = Fast accelerate, Fast Left, Fast Decelerate, Fast Right
What's the key binding for numpad 1..? I use a mouse with extra keys, and I have them set to my numpad. Which I also use for running, would like the same key to be used for accelerating in the cars. Would you use KP_End? Or KP_1?

Works great with game version 2.1 ;)
Mod still works even with CVO.
@Mettaray Is possible to update the mod or make it work ?
Worked for me 2.01.

WASD = Fast accelerate, Fast Left, Fast Decelerate, Fast Right
LShift + WASD = Slow accelerate, Slow Left, Slow Decelerate, Slow Right
Just Lshift = Even Slower Decelerate aka Coasting
