So glad mod authors are using the nexus installs for setting customizations and putting sliders in menus so we don't have to navigate a bazillion downloads.
The normal animation simply doesn't appear. I tried carrying the NPC from the quest "Big in Japan" and regardless of whether I had my weapon holstered or not, I still get the two-armed "rescue" animation
You can try it without the mod and see if it still happens. I think it will, because some quest NPCs are set to use the two handed carry animations by default.
You were right, the quest was defaulting to a "rescue" carry animation I did notice that when I enable "use both hands" the player will ALWAYS carry bodies using the same "rescue" animation, but when I leave that option unchecked, I can carry with one arm and pull out my weapon later Another problem is that once I pull out my weapon, I can't holster it while carrying a bpdy
If I have a pistol equipped while I pick someone up then I don't get the friendly rescue carry animations.
Yeah, this doesn't happen when I use this mod with "Use Both Hands Enabled". If I have a weapon in hand, I still get the "Both hands" animation. Could there be a mod conflict perhaps? Or am I just using the mod wrong?
EDIT: So I loaded in the game and everything worked normally...at first. Two hand when unarmed, one arm when armed. I played a few missions, then just before deciding to close the game, I loaded a quicksave I took in a stealth mission. Choked out some guy and tried carrying WITH a pistol equipped, and it defaulted to the two-arm carry. Again.
Hi, I don't know why but this works for me for about 2 or 3 unarmed carries and then subseuqnetly it just stops working completely (during a single playthrough without loading or restarting the game). I then have to delete it and reinstall it for it to start working for another 2 or 3 times before it stops working again.The rescue carry works 100% fine though.
+ I'm having the same issue as fraggedfragg. The two-armed carry works fine, but the one-armed carry only works for a bit. Just for clarification, I'm using a controller.
Thanks for this, I have no idea why CDPR disabled the unarmed carry... holding a weapon while carrying used to be a skill you unlocked, and even then you could holster or unholster your weapon at will. I have no idea why they took that away... they make weird decisions sometimes.
I played a few hours when the game first came out and was really disappointed by it, it seems weird they had stuff like this back then but not now. I just tried it again a few weeks ago and really find it a lot more enjoyable now, it feels more like a finished game at least. Weird it's missing random things that used to be there tho.
If you are holding any weapon when you pick up the body, you will keep that weapon in your hands.
Hehe, actually this is part that I don't want. I should have worded my suggestion better. What I really was asking for was, something to prevent you from auto equiping a hand gun when carrying bodies, but also holster your gun when you pick up a body. Personally, I do not like the asthetics and it makes reloading look weird with off screen one hand reload. Also looks even worse with "Always First Equip" on handguns with two hand intial animations.
Edit: I only mentioned the unarmed animation, because I intially thought there was no unarmed animations and the handgun was necessary for the carry body function to work. It was to my disbelief when I played out using a handgun to see the unarmed carry animation. Which up to the point I always played with handgun.

What happened to the default carry animation if your weapon isn't holstered?
Which bodies are you trying to carry? You can see the normal animation works fine in the GIF on the mod page.
Do I try uninstalling and reinstalling?

- You can enable the option to carry bodies in both hands while unarmed, this includes the gentler pickup and drop animations too.
Enabling this causes all pickup animation to default to this, and I can't pull out any weapons eitherWhich is exactly how the mod is meant to work.
