Strange - I'm having the opposite (for the TPP version). Motorcycles work, but most (not all) cars still auto-center. This is with a new game. One that always seems to work is when driving Beast during the races. Luckily for me, my V prefers motorcycles.
i found the line that makes the issue, all you need to do is change one single line in cool cam here's how:
go to: ...\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks\mods\CoolCam - NoAutoCenter open init.lua with notepad+ or whatever text editor you like (notepad+ is good cause it has a lot of coding stuff line line numbering) go to line 199, (it's near the bottom of the document about 5 lines up)
replace with and you're done!
basically, replace settings.fppBikeResetTimeout with 10000.0 and you're done, save and start the game
I saw everyone complaining about the TPP Camera file, which does not work for most people, and many people find it difficult to turn off the TPP Camera.
The solution is easy and I personally use it with versions of the game (2.11\2.1\2.0). It works without any problems.Go to the game folder and to this path (Cyberpunk 2077\r6\config\settings) and open the (options.json) file using Notepad++ or any editor you like, search for (VehicleTPPCameraAutoResetTimeV2) and change the "max_value" from 10.0 to 1000.0 as shown in the picture and save the file.⬇
Open the game, go to (Setting\Controls), go to the Vehicle section, and change the Camera Auto Reset Time value from 10 to 1000 as shown in the picture.⬇
(°ー°〃) Sorry, I am new to the Cyberpunk community. I just tried the mod and did not read the description carefully, so I wanted to help some people who are facing problems with an easy, detailed explanation.
Just a little warning: In v2.11 I edited the options.json (becuase the update resets it), and if I change the step_value, the game doesn't work. So leave it on 0.1. I had no problem with setting the max to 100.
This may sound dumb, but I actually want the opposite of this mod. I play on PC and I mouse/kb on foot but use a controller to drive. Traffic sucks in Night City and being able to peek the corners at intersections would save a lot of grief. I'm looking for a mod that auto-centers the view from inside the car instantly. If I let go of the stick, I want to be looking straight forward immediately. There's a controller setting that nearly does this for third-person if you dial it down to 0.10, but not for first person. Is there a mod that does what I want? If so, could you point me at it?
true, this is a function that should be in the game. is the only reason why I don't drive in first person in this game. I use keyboard and mouse, but it's there same there. I mean even IRL, when I don't look around anymore, I just looks straight ahead. But in game there is no indicator WHEN you are looking straight forward. IMO this is the MOST needed funtion for a driving mechanism. "If you don't look around, look straight forward." No matter which input you use. Sadly I don't know how to make such a mod.
That's a shame. It would be much more immersive if I could just flick the stick to look left & right if I wanna turn in an intersection. Perhaps somebody will figure this out. I guess I'll just keep checking Nexusmods and see if someone finds a solution eventually. It's not necessary but it would really be a nice-to-have quality of life feature.
Thank you for responding so quickly. It's a bummer that this doesn't currently exist, but maybe it will at some point. BTW, I wasn't trying to poop on your mod or anything. I'm just kinda looking for the opposite. Have a great weekend.
For those wondering if this works alongside CoolCam - https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/9443 I'm currently using both and the answer is no, but it may be a problem specifically between CoolCam and v2.02 and not a direct conflict with this mod.
Auto centering seems to be completely disabled with both mods installed, and from reading posts on the CoolCam page it sounds like the author hasn't made it compatible with 2.02 yet, which may be the root cause of the issue.
This mod by itself otherwise works fine for me in both first person and third person on motorcycles - I haven't tried in cars yet since I don't usually use them.

Maybe I'll find another solution later to make it as a mod.
edit: I found out what was going on, it was the "CoolCam" mod that was overwriting the bike variable
