I’ve been desperately hoping for a tech lmg that does normal rapid fire from the hip, and a single powerful shot when aimed and charged. Any chances of an alternate version like that? As it stands, this is the closest thing to that I’ve found yet, thank you
I deem the weapon final, so I won't add any alterations or alternative versions. having that said, if you'd like, you can tweak it to at least to get closer to what you want (your actual idea would take much more effort to implement): to have regular rapid fire (no tech charge) from hip-fire, and do charged (but still full auto, so basically what you have now) shots when ADS. In "Items.m1klos_BTGGF.yml" remove the line "primaryTriggerMode: TriggerMode.Charge" (make sure there are no leftover spaces or tabulations, the yaml format is finicky in that way), that way you will fall back to the original Defender hipfire mode.
Fair enough, and thank you for the suggestion. While waiting for a response, I've been having a great time with the weapon as released, and I want to thank you again for finally giving me something even close to the idea I described
A very interesting weapon mechanism design, but there is a problem. No matter how high I raise the recoil control, the twitching and shaking of the muzzle are still very obvious. In the aiming state, it is even impossible to make the aiming scope center in the center of the screen normally. Is this a problem with the recoil animation?
The thing is, that it is still an LMG at heart, it won't be that stable at long range, ADS is more for a situational use case. The recoil could be tuned further down (it is already less than the original Defender has), but then you'd get a fully automatic sniper with a high firerate, the weapon is already close to the more powerful end of the spectrum
