Not too much, as it is only a reshade. If you already use reshade, then the performance hit should be similar to anyother preset. If FPS is a concern to you, Reshade has a performance mode that you can enable by ticking a box, which minimises the FPS loss, while keeping quality the same (ish)
There are some installation instructions in the description. Simply drag and drop the preset into the cyberpunk folder, and you're good to go!
If you mean how to install reshade, download the latest version from their website, then go through the installer, following the tutorials online. Once you've done that, THEN install the mod.
hi, i really love the visuals but i might have an issue with the reshade preset (i've tested v1.2 and v1.1) and the shaders it's using are basically nova's bodycam, so if anyone could help me with the reshade and what shaders are used
What kind of issues are you experiencing? I don't fully understand what you mean in this post. If you want a bodycam-style, I also have made a bodycam mod, using this as the foundations, and tweaking the colors to be more of a bodycam style
I would highly recommend using primarily heavy clouds with GITS3.x FUJI ENV for the best realism, however, it can still look good in all weather conditions, just not photoreal. This is simply because the way the engine renders the sky and the reflections of the sky, as far as I can tell, is not physically accurate - at least that's my understanding.
In the description tab, the author recommends Nova Lut, and GITS ENV file, but not the Gits main file. What exactly is the main file? Is it another LUT, so it would conflict with Nova? Is it just a reshade, which would obviously be unnecessary with this mod? Or is it a stand alone mod that changes visuals throughout the game, and will play nice with all of the above?
I'm confused because the super realistic videos on youtube say to use Nova LUT WITH Gits 3.x. Those videos would seem to suggest using both main files together, not only the Gits ENV optional file.
Base GITS is just a LUT, so it would conflict with Nova LUT. Feel free to swap between Nova and GITs, but I have not designed the mod for GITS, and it would not look as good. As long as you do not have both of them installed, it should be fine. I think the videos are referring to the ENV not the main color gradeing file.
If I may please, another question. Sorry for being such a newb here.
With Nova's Lut switcher pack, where is the actual switcher? It doesn't use CET or native settings UI, so where do I find it to select a LUT?
Alright, I got reshade to load with all its add-ons. When I go in and select your preset, there are only 4 things activated. Is that correct?
As far as the cinematic dof, I can see exactly why that's included, but mine flashes in and out of focus rapidly and constantly. Any idea why it does that?
Yes, there should only be 4 things enabled in reshade, that is correct, but to fix the flickering Dof, ensure that in the "add-ons" tab, you have the correct Aspect ratio Hueristic set, if you are using upscaling, select multiples of resolution. Below those dropdown boxes are 2 checkboxes. Ensure that they are both checked (Copy depth buffer before clear operations, and Copy depth buffer during frame to prevent artefacts) to enable them. If there is still flickering, The best option is probably just to turn off cinematic Dof in the menu so the game is playable. Hope this helps!
Could you provide more details? Check if you have the effect "Cinematic Depth of Field" enabled/installed, as when you install reshade, it may not install all effects, depending on what buttons you click in the installer. If the issue is unstable DOF, try turning on film grain. I don't know the reason behind it, but I found in testing, using DLSS, that film grain fixed some instability in the DOF, but that issue has been worked around, at least for DLSS users I think. Could you DM me some screenshots of the game and the reshade menu? thanks
I really don't understand how people think desaturating all colors, simulating astigmatism and making the sky bland white is "realistic" at all. Maybe when you're like 75+ years old and living in Seattle perhaps. Hmmm.
Some modders never go out and touch grass or look up at the sky. They aren't even aware of existing reallife weather variations. Or maybe they live in a perma "bad weather environment" or are colorblind and have a permanent "Magic Fish Eye effect on their retina". Don't worry about that... Since the first "bleached reshade walking simulator" came out on youtube, everyone has been copying the same style.
I really don't get why people comment on mods they don't want to use. This mod ain't for me either but there's no need to come here & talk sh*t. This modding community is awesome except when people come and comment sh*t like this. It's their first mod. Don't be so discouraging - show some support or suggestions. Better yet, shut the f*#@ up and make your own damn mods.
I understand this mod is not to everyone's taste, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion; however, if you do not like the mod, don't download it. There is no reason to use this section apart from help with the mod or general questions. If you have installed the mod you would have noticed that most colors are turned up in vibrance, not down, and although I can see why you would assume all scenes in this mod would be gray based off of the images provided by me, I used these images to showcase the most realistic area of the map, as I do not think the foliage look amazing in the game, although the do look very good. Please make sure that if you do have a complaint, present it politely, or don't give it at all. I can see that you are a more experienced modder than I am, so if you don't like my take on this style, why don't you make your own and tailor it to your ideals? Sorry if this reshade offended you in any way .
Introducing camera artifacts can trigger the sense of realism. Its psychology really. The more you obscure (crushed shadows, blown out highlights, blooming artifacts, lens distortion, chromatic abberation) the more "real" it can look. Because some people grew up with having to look at movies/tv shows etc that had these "artefacts". The game bodycam for instance, simulates the whole GoPro artifacting, to deliver this sense of realism. Its sort of the uncanny valley idea, but for games. Where you reject the "realism" if it looks very real but still removed from actual real footage.
