Might be nerdy i know but this car needs a back story
Title: Lone Wanderer: V's Ride to the AfterLife Night City. A tangle of chrome, neon, and blood. Deals are currency. Trust is a liability. And V? V was learning that the hard way. He used to be corp. Not one of the high tower suits sipping black label brandy from a glass desk, but a field ops specialist for Arasaka—slick, sharp, and surgically effective. He had the look, the creds, and the cold efficiency. But something changed. The greed, the politics, the quiet executions behind closed doors—they started to choke him. So he burned his bridge, went nomad, and traded polished skyscrapers for cracked highways and dusty chrome. And yet, the city has a funny way of never letting go.
It started with a job. Maelstrom wanted a clean, quiet rip on a data vault tucked in the guts of a Militech front in Watson. They needed a runner with corporate credentials. V fit the bill. The fixer was a psycho named Flint—chrome jaw, blood-red optics, and a laugh like broken glass. V was hesitant, but the pay was stupid-good, and he needed a fresh start. The job went sideways. Of course it did. Turned out the data wasn't Militech's. It was stolen Arasaka black ops intel—classified to hell and radioactive to touch. Maelstrom didn’t care. They wanted to flip it to Biotechnica for a few million eurodollars. But V? He knew better. He tried to walk, to warn them. Flint didn’t take it well. Next thing V knows, he’s waking up in a basement with his arms zip-tied, a bleeding lip, and Flint’s chrome revolver pressing against his temple. “You’re either in,” Flint hissed, “or you're meat.” V smiled through the blood. “Guess that makes you scrap.” It was quick. Elbow to the gut, a twist, a shot—revolver in V’s hand now, blood painting the wall. Three Maelstromers dropped before they could even twitch. The rest scrambled. V ran. But he needed wheels.
He burst into the garage behind the hideout, alarms already blaring. Most of the rides were chopped-up mechs or hacked-out hoverbikes. But tucked in the corner, under a dusty cover, was her. A 2017 Nissan GTR. A relic. Pristine. Like a ghost from a time before mega-corps ruled the world. He ripped the cover, hotwired the ignition, and roared out of the garage just as a half-dozen Maelstromers lit him up with smart rounds and shotgun slugs. The GTR took it like a beast—glass shattered, tires screeched, but the engine? Pure growl.
He made it to the Badlands. Hid the GTR in a nomad camp under a tarp. He could’ve ditched it. But no. That car meant something. A symbol. Of escape. Of survival. Of vengeance. He modified it in secret. Armor plating from old Militech wrecks. Twin front-mounted turret hardpoints made from repurposed drone hardware. A grenade launcher welded into the rear window’s reinforced metal plating—meant to disperse crowds or lay down a smokescreen of chaos. A Psychotic engine conversion, rebuilt to run ChooH2—and, when needed, filtered pure ethanol. A 48-hour sealed oxygen system, using scavenged parts from a derelict orbital suit. Cameras replaced the windows. Interior screens wired into a neural jack. He called it Lone Wanderer.
Months passed. Rumors spread. NCPD started finding Maelstromers dead in alleys, burned-out convoys in the Badlands, cyberpsychos shot clean between the eyes. All traced back to one ghost. A former corp, now driving a weaponized GTR from the last century. A vigilante. A myth. An Edgerunner.
One night, in Santo Domingo, the NCPD boxed him in. Five interceptors, two AVs, and a netrunner trying to short out his ride. They underestimated Lone Wanderer. Smoke screen engaged. EMP blast fried the AVs. Twin front-mounted auto-turrets roared to life and spat tungsten hell. The grenade launcher in the rear window popped a homing shells that scattered the blockade. V gunned it through the wreckage, left fire and sirens in his wake. From then on, he stopped running. He started hunting.
They say V doesn’t sleep anymore. That he wired part of his own brain into Lone Wanderer’s interface. That he talks to the car. That it talks back. They say he’s building something. Not just a ride—but a legacy. A symbol for the broken. A weapon against the corrupt. Steel. Smoke. And silence.
Night City eats its children. But V? V built something that bites back. And every time the roar of that old GTR echoes through the streets, someone in the shadows starts to pray they’re not on his list. Because when Lone Wanderer comes for you... There’s no outrunning the past.
bro that would be absolutely goated if you ever figured out how to quest mod cause it would make getting cars more fun and the reason i did the corpo to nomad angle is because of the New Lifepath Intro - Fresh Start mod by deceptious it is only really affecting the start of the game and giving corpo and nomad voice lines but it is f*#@ing gold standard of what quest mods should be like i believe if you put your mind to it you could easily do it too or if i have the time i will try and figure out how to mod and then ill do it
Amazing mod, great car, love to hear that V6 scream. Only complain is about the headlights, it seems better headlights mod doesnt work, and with nova city visual, driving in the night is terribly difficult, is there a way to fix this? Thanks
Hi, I apologize for the late answer, here is the amazing headlights mod https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/5013 Here are 3 images showing the issue https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/images/149320 https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/images/149319 https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/images/149318 There are the only pics on my profil, youll find them there if needed I hope all this helps Take care
Absolutely Amazing. Any chances of you adding a non nomad variant? Without the exhausts on the hood and the weaponry it would look like the perfect ilegal street racer.
I have one question regarding dependencies for this mod. Where do .bnk files from custom engine sound pack go? And please don't act like smug MFs about it.
i wont lie to you, you made a good mod but u actually flopped the mod with the sound, installing that sound is complicated because most people that download cars don't have to install the sound with it, and those sound files don't have a tutorial on where u need to place the files to make it work, u kind of flopped on this mod with what we have to do to get the sound, we appreciate your efforts with this mod because mods take work & to get them for free is nice, but honestly you flopped it with this whole sound thing.
The front page literally explains how to install. You literally just drag and drop one file into a folder smh. It's not a flop, you just didn't take the time out to read. Take accountability and stop projecting.
So downloaded the main but i have no sound i tried downloading the requirements but no sound the car is really awesome can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Hey, this mod is absolutely fantastic. Best car mod I've used. Just one thing I'm having issues with is the windows wont clear up its just solid metal when I'm in first person, is there a button I have to push?
Yeah it does it when I go into passenger seat but not in driver. So weird. I'm playing the city of dreams collection so maybe there's something conflicting idk :/
Did you turn on the crystaldome thing, it's F4(either hold or double tap, can't remember which) by default in the city of dreams collection because of Enhanced vehicle system mod.

I don't understand why this mod is so underrated. It's really well made and fits the theme very well.
