About this mod

This is a highly experimental preset made with Reshade tools available.

I have spent more time than I'd like to admit trying to make this work.

My goal is to create a lively HDR representation. With absolute blacks 0 nits, up to 10000 nits, while not looking overly saturated while forgoing the in game Tone mapping and effects

Requirements
Permissions and credits
It was build from the ground up, so it doesn't rely on the in game tone mapping, but is made WHILE using Nova City.

Keypoints:

HDR for HGIG enabled screens.
Colors going deep into BT2020 territory.
Realistic feeling lighting, while using adaptation.
AGX for that lifelike color presentation.
Absolute black 0 nits to 10.000 nits
Colored highlight up to 10.000 nits
Chose from 60 different movie inspired LUTS with Multilut

Camera effects:

Colored bloom
Relaxed exposure adaptation, on top of the relatively quick adaptation from Nova City
Lens flares, while the "camera" is not adapted to this brightness
Depth based motion blur
Film grain
Depth based chromatic aberration
Cinematic depth of field

General improvements:

Sharpening to bring back a lot of the detail lost by Ray Reconstruction and the in game TAA.

Disclaimers:

This is made on an Oled TV with HGIG enabled.
The 10% window of sustained peak nits is 790 (LG OLED C9)
The result might well vary based on these metrics and color reproduction capabilities. So manual tuning might be required.

There is a significant performance hit, on a typical setup (Path tracing, DLLS Quality, Ray Reconstruction enabled, ultra settings and Frame Generation) on my particular system:

NO tone mapping or effects:    ~100 FPS
Nova LUT + all bells and whistles (in game chromatic aberration, motion blur, DOF etc):   ~99 FPS
The basic preset (no effects, just the color/lighting):  ~85 FPS
Preset + all bells and whistles: ~77 FPS

Reshade affects the in game UI, though I tried to make it work as good as it gets, by using the depth buffer.

Since it is nearly impossible to display an HDR image in SDR format, I have uploaded footage to YouTube, where you can watch it on your screen in the proper way (with an HDR enabled browser or app)

Install instructions:

Download and install Reshade 6.3.3. link

Extract the contents of the mod into your Cyberpunk root directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077

It includes INI files + the reshade preset

I highly recommend setting your display up accordingly using the Windows HDR calibration app available in the Windows store
If you want to play on a cinematic aspect ratio, while saving performance at the same time, consider Screen Resolution Changer
