Anyone else getting a noticeable performance impact while ADS'ing??

In most locations, including heavy H10 atrium, I am getting a solid 15 fps drop. Honestly not awful but seems consistent and reproducible only when ADS'ing. Including with knives surprisingly enough.

Considering this mod doesn't use scripts, kinda suprised but I have a moderate modlist so could be a combination with the most noticeable being the weapon handling mod.

Yes, also got the FPS drop so I had to remove it.

In fact such feature has always been a huge performance problem thgroughout all fps games and modding cmomunities, that's why most games don't have it.

There's a reason why you don't see an effect like this very often in games. It's because it is pretty much always very resource intensive unless you use some (very ugly looking) work-arounds. It's essentially resource intensive for the same reason that mirrors are- the game is basically rendering the same scene twice. Once at your normal fov, and again at the lower "zoomed in" fov. That's why the author titled it "dual-fov."

CoD: MW2019 managed to pull it off without performance impact, as well has the upcoming Battlefield 6. But the difference between the frame and the scope was not huge - just enough to create a nice lensing effect. I assume they just render the full frame at lower FOV but higher resolution. The scopes zoom in to render at 100% scale, while the rest of the frame renders at a 90% scale.

Hi, first off, I wish to say that I'm having good fun with the mod and really appreciate the added immersion. Kudos for making it, and really looking forward to an implementation, if ever, on the sniper scopes. I'll also add that Immersive Sidearm ADS plays well with this mod.

However, I'm running into a minor visual issue with the in-scope zoom. It might or might not be from some interactions with other changes. I'll post two of my suspects after the symptoms.
Version's 0.1.0a with the load order adjusted to put this mod before Preem Scopes.
Symptom: The red silhouette overlaying tagged enemies has a small misalignment and a scale mismatch with what's actually seen through the scope. I think the silhouette is being rendered at the wider "outside" FOV. See below.

Suspects: This might be from some interaction with my usage of the Use Your Cybernetic Eyes to Aim mod, or the fact that I'm running a 120 degree FOV, so I'm not putting this in the bugs section. It'd be interesting to know if others without these tweaks can replicate this issue though.

Such feature has always been like a cut-of-the-edge technological issue in modding communities including Fallout and other games, and you my friend, are the first in 2077 community who actually have the taste and guts to realize it, a ture hero in 2077 modding! Sorry for the bad English, love from China

I’ve just tested this mod with the CP2077 VR mod and it works very nicely with it - and I think it’s massively better than the usual zoom-view aiming. The scope view is noticeably less detailed (as you said in the description) but I agree it’s a small price to pay - and if you can improve it in the future that would be great. If sniper rifles get the same treatment, all the better 😁👍

    Endorsed, and very happy!

Edit: when using a scope that has a bonus like “adds 1.3 magnification” (I was fitting a “Jue” Tier 5 scope) the entire view has the additional zoom instead of it being applied to the scope, which has your modded zoomed-in view.

Despite 'Jue' being "just" a long scope, I still consider it a sniper scope, and thus didn't alter it's default zoom for gameplay purposes. It should still have the magnification on the lens though...

Thanks for the reply - yes, the Jue scope has lens magnification from your mod, it’s just the extra-extra zoom from the scope description is applied via the old method.
