IMO it should slightly zoom to get rid of "still hipfire but ADS animation" feel. Iron sight has awfully exaggerated zoom in this game but fully eliminated zoom is kinda counter intuitive. I'd like to know if we can adjust that

I got the opportunity to finally try out this mod, I realized the thing I mentioned has no significance at all. Other than that, awesome mod. It may seem little but it has lots of impact in my gameplay.
I know this mostly affects handguns and shotguns, but it does affect some of the rest of the weapons and not others, like it affects the DS1 Pulsar but not the M221 Saratoga and both don't have any attachments applied
Is there a reason for that, and if possible, can this be applied to all weapons that don't use attachments? It's a great mod no doubt but it does break the immersion when not all the weapons behave the same
No, it should be affecting ALL weapons, just to varying degrees. Everything but sniper scopes should have the zoom disabled, though. It's entirely possible that I just missed a weapon here and there, as I had to root through thousands of stat records to find the relevant ones. Is the Saratoga in question a special variant? It would be helpful to know, because mine is working fine...
I'll look back through the stats in the morning when I get off work, see if I did in fact miss something...
Most of the weapons I linked in my Imgur album work as intended while others don't as they were never included like for example the Guillotine, Igla and Satara
But I followed the lines for other weapons that have existing FOVs and applied it to them, like: Items.Base_Igla_Aim_Stats_inline0.value: 30 # FOV Items.Base_Nowaki_Aim_Stats_inline0.value: 25 # FOV Items.Base_Guillotine_Aim_Stats_inline0.value: 35 # FOV
I got lucky with a few, that said... it's a great mod :D
This mod is amazing. Thanks! Also, it works on any FoV value, I've found. Imagine how great it'd be if scopes worked with path tracing, AFAIK a fairly new game actually handles scopes like this. So your view (fov) is unaffected, but the view in the scope itself is zoomed in.
You read my mind. Im actually going to attempt this next, once I have this mod on a solid foundation. Don't know if it's possible, but there's only one way to find out...
I've been wanting a mod like this since the game came out. I can't wait for red dot sights to be simple sights instead of the crazy zoom they have. Please, make it happen soon! :D
Edit: That would be "short" scopes, which are not scopes. :)

Is setting the FOV to 100 absolutely necessary or is it just recommended?Im an idiot, reading the description helps.
Like most of the tube style scopes would realistically be zoomed while the more squarish reflex sights should remain 1x like your mod has them now

There's nothing for the HR-4 Grit and the Ticon for example to edit

As for the Saratoga, it's a non-iconic variant, but I don't remember the tier level tbh
