can't get it to work on 1.2.

tried both, manual and installing via mod manager but it doesn't change anything

they changed where mods are installed in 1.2 In Vortex, right-click the mod, "open in file manager" and rename the folder "patch" to "mod"

Should be updated now.  I was wondering why things broke in general after the update...

With the patch 1.04 , CDproject changed the original braindance tool light and flashing effects for the risk triggering seizures in photosensitive players (For the risk may cause epilepsy).
If you are photosensitive player then don't install this mod.

Haha I finished the game on 1.0 with vorpx in VR and I remember the braindance sequences when the game flushed my eyes with light and I had to shut my eyes so hard every time.

So much more superior. Should have been a toggle. Perhaps they'll re-add it as an optional feature, but I understand their decision. Health and safety first, ofc. Saying that, though, I'm pretty sure there are much more intense effects like this throughout the game, and no one complained except in this instance. But who am I to argue? I don't have epilepsy.

Also, noob question, but any installation instructions? I haven't really installed any CB2077 mods before. Thanks!

Using Vortex is the easiest method, otherwise extract to the game directory

And just to clarify, CB2077 modding isn't as strict as, say, Skyrim... where installing and uninstalling mods mid-playthrough can corrupt your save file?

Nothing is for sure, back up your save file to be sure.

Thanks! They should never have removed it. It should've just been an option in the menu to switch to the other one.

Precisely! But I guess they had some way bigger things to deal with. Here's hoping this will come eventually... once the game is in a more mature state.

I mean I liked this version better, but they removed it due to the fact that it triggered tf out of epilectic people so yes, they should have removed it

The reason they removed it was because it's literally the sequence of lights that are used in diagnostic medicine to trigger an epileptic event.  Someone who knows they are epileptic would know to turn the option off in the menu.

However not everyone knows they're epileptic until a triggering event occurs.  Then they load up their first BD in Cyberpunk and boom they have their first seizure in their computer chair.

How about a different pattern then? One that is not the exact one used to trigger epileptic episodes. The original is much more refined/realistic and the new one sucks.

Thanks for this, always wondered why we weren't given a choice or a toggle for this in the options menu. The new one just feels really "flat".

I agree, and they replaced the assets.  Good thing you can download any version from steam via their depos

Allow me to commend you even more for the effort then, didn't occur to me that you'd need to hoop jump different repos to find the old assets. Kudos mate!

They probably just assumed people dont turn on toggles much haah Would suck being an epileptic and it randomly caused your epilepsy to trigger. HOWEVER they could just make the new one as "default" and just add a toggle to turn it back to original.

Exactly. I'm sure even the devs agree that the new version is boring and flat looking...
But they had to do what they had to do. Safety first, right? Perhaps when the free DLCs start rolling in, they'll bring it back as a Toggle, much like in The Witcher 3, you could toggle on/off the Free DLC Alternate Outfits for Ciri, Triss, Yen, y'know?

Thanks for this. I hadn't even realized they changed it. Probably because I haven't played much since I first finished it.
