Sticky for mod authors who want to convert their hair replacers to ccxl additions with dynamic materials, making them compatible with all future hair colour additions.
However, no matter what I try it just won't load. I double checked dependencies, reinstalled the latest ArchiveXL and RED4xt, toggled on and off "enable mods," and the game is up to 2.2.1. Yet nothing's appearing after hairstyle 51. I genuinely don't know what to do at this point. Anyone have an ideas?
Hey! Thanks for getting back to me! I discovered the problem, actually. While I went to look for the logs for ArchiveXL and RED4xt, I could only find the RED4xt logs. Which told me that ArchiveXL was not loading. So I looked in to it. Since I am playing on the Steam Deck, apparently I needed to enter a launch command for ArchiveXL to actually work (WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm.dll=n,b" %command%). Once I did that, your hair loaded just fine.
Thanks again for getting back, and for the great mod!
I must have missed this in the character creator screen as I didn't see it and I scrolled through all of the options. I do have a replacer version of this hair style for 1 though.
Which update? the game update or this mod's update. It is important to run the latest version of ArchiveXL and the latest version of this mod together.
Over time, the version requirements will become a bit looser because ArchiveXL bundle implementation is pretty much set at this point and isn't going to change at all going forward.
Can you show a screenshot? Texel density is higher than normal since it has 2k textures. The basegame is 512x512 and 1k alpha.
So at middle to far camera distances, it is possible for fine hair strands to disappear into subpixel noise but need a visual reference. We may not be talking about the same things.
Goat. Is this, or will it be possible in the future for every CC stuffs, like Eyes, Eyebrows, Makeup, Cyberware, Skin Type etc? I will convert my stuffs if possible ^^
Eyes, Eyebrows, Makeup, Cyberware, Skin Type etc is nothing but plans/ideas for now. Need to build proof of concepts, the first of which will suck. And then you iterate and tool dev until it doesn't suck anymore. I hope other people can get the ball rolling on those as I'd like to play this game eventually. I wanna be a mod user and a gamer for a bit. It sounds like fun.
Of course, I know that feeling too! Thanks for the answer, I was just wondering for information, I'm unfortunately too noob to help, even if I learned a few things about how to make some mods, I'm way too far away in terms of programing/technical knowledge that you guys have, so I won't be able to help you ! x)
Hair is already a biiig improvement and thats already really cool that you and psiberx make this feature real ! <3
The latest updates to Hair Profiles and Faith's Hair are to correct an internal versioning mistake I made. Basically old pre-release stuff in my files that were removed in ArchiveXL bundle and shouldn't be used in future. Sorry about that.
I have the latest ArchiveXL and game version and this recent update leaves my character bald also.
No worries, just reverted back to the previous version and all worked fine. Have not checked for conflicts and such as I am happy with the previous version
EDIT: I see you didn't leave up the old version. Lucky for me I habitually keep things.
Check the video on the main page. You just go to a Ripperdoc or a mirror (like the one in V's apartment). Then you change your hairstyle using the character creator.
"Faith" will be after hairstyle 51 (or to get to it quicker you can go back from hairstyle 01).
FYI a peep Silverlags took your non-replaceable process and posted a templet mod for it yet seems to be taking credit for it or at least not giving you the credit for developing it.
Appreciate you for having my back fam, but it ain't like that.
I have talked to Silverlags (and others) at length about how to make a good template that is more re-usable than Faith's Hair and I encouraged them to upload it. Thats why I stickied a link to the Silverlags template in this comments section.
Other early CCXL hairstyle additions on Nexusmods are cloned from Faith's Hair and I helped at least 6 people to create a CCXL hair, although not all have uploaded.
Faith's Hair is not an ideal template to copy/paste from because it contains some legacy holdovers from previous implementations that myself and psi moved away from.
I really wanna play this game, not mod the character creator forever. The intent was always to make something small, re-usable, intuitive and scalable and then for the community to take over and run with it.
If you want to acknowledge someone, thank psiberx. I don't think many people realize how hard he is carrying this mod and the Cyberpunk modding community generally.
ahh fair enough, glad it's all good. Can't blame me for the coincidental timing of it all, you post your mod then a day or so later I see that with no credit. Found it sus as you can imagine. None the less glad it's all square. Thanks again for the great mod!

Make sure you have ArchiveXL 1.20+ (game version 2.2+) and make sure ArchiveXL's dependency (RED4ext) is up to date.
