It works fine with Angel body mod, I am using the following files:
2bt_realskinn_gorilla_arms_main (main file). 2bt_realskinn_gorilla_arms__vtk_fem_arms (since angel body is a VTK body)
Simply rename the 2 files (in my case the 2 I use) by adding at the beginning an “exclamation mark” -> !
This will leave the files way up and avoid any conflict, if you still have conflict, add another exclamation -> !! and this will leave the file much higher, the idea is that this mod will take priority over any mod you have that is modifying the arms and you don't know for sure.
If you do this, the mod will work perfectly with angel body mod.
PS: It's not perfect, bent or flexed arms look a little weird around the elbow area (This detail can be seen in the third photo), otherwise it's fine.
I don't have angel body mod, but this method worked for me. My arm tattoos load properly and gorilla arms are hidden. Looks clean as much as it can be. Thanks!
Yes. Also, it usually works for a while, but then at some point the colour resets to the basic no colour look. Like it will work for hours and through several quests, then at some point I look down and suddenly instead of my black nails, I have the default ones again. Not sure what causes this. :/
Ok, "multiple hours" probably means it's gonna be a pain to figure this out. I'm currently working on an update for this mod and maybe I can add a workaround for the issue. May take a bit, though, because I work on multiple things at the same time and switch from one to the other when I get bored or annoyed.
I know you said you will not include the Unique Nail Framework, which is fair enough, but can you please add the solid colours from Anrui's Metallic and Glowy Nails mod? None of the glowy stuff, just the colours. I don't even mind having to manually input the colour code through the CET.
Well, I obviously can't take another modder's assets and include them in my mod. I mean technically I could, but that's a jerk move and I try to avoid those. But again, I plan to make some changes at some point that may make those nails compatible automagically.
Well, I get why that would seem like a straightforward way to implement this. Unfortunately it really isn't. Arms - especially cyberarms - are just a huge mess and there's just no such thing as "simply revert to the game's original model".
That being said, I still plan to change the way this mod works using the newer functions of ArchiveXL. It may or may not support other mods that affect arms or nails automagically then, but that depends on how those mods are built.
the point is the huge amount of mods that use it as a dependency. your hands are the one thing you can see in first person consistently. the same reason you care about the aesthetic enough to make this mod. so if you want a color that isn't base game, you probably need to install it, and if you're installing mods to make the game more aesthetically pleasing in the first place, why draw the line there?
This is exactly what I was looking for but I'm still having trouble getting this to work for my masc V. Part of it works (ie his arms don't look like the gorilla arms after installing the cyberware) but his nail polish isn't showing up (the chipped black nail polish). I tried your fixes in the description, include equipping the nail polish using the console and reloading saves. nada. The only thing I have that might be causing the issue is I use the MascV_Skin_type0_noabs file from Masculine V Body Overhaul https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3324?tab=files which is a texture change
Ok, needs more info: - Do other CET mods work for you? - When you open the CET console after starting the game, do you see the line `2BT RealSkinn Gorilla Arms initialized.- What color are your V's fingernails when you have gorilla arms equipped? - Starting from your game folder, please check \bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks\mods\2bt_Gorilla_ArmsThere should be a log file named 2bt_Gorilla_Arms.log that you can open in any text editor. Please check if there are any errors in it and if so, please post them.
Thanks for looking into this! I do use other CET mods, they're all working. It does say that the mod is initialized and there are no errors in the log file. HOWEVER I figured out now what's causing it. I've been using Decorative Gorilla Hand and Arms (https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/19413) for the arm portion only because I wanted to still show his nail polish. I thought if I used it in conjunction with this mod, I could still get the benefit of the actual Gorilla arm abilities, get the look, but also keep the fingernail polish but I guess that just doesn't work. Sorry if that should have been obvious, wasn't exactly sure how any of these mods interact with each other.
Ah, that would explain it. ;) Judging by the description I don't think there's a way to make these two mods work together. The creator of the other mod would have to add fingernails to their mod.
The linked mod has no fingernails and the other mod that does something similar uses the NPC fingernail meshes and colors which look considerably worse and also requires archive switcheroo if you change nail colors. So, in that sense I'd say this mod is more advanced, yes. This mod only supports vanilla and VTK arms right now, though. I'm waiting for a specific update of ArchiveXL that would allow me to support all arm mods out of the box with no extra packages.
If you don't care about fingernails, you may be fine with the old mod. I'd be careful with old mods like that, though. A lot has changed since then and any mod from back then may be broken now or strictly speaking may have been broken to begin with.
Yes, I just tried it and since I use male V with no changes to nail colors, nothing changes for me. BUT I will still use yours since it's more advanced, thus hopefully has less bugs.
The old one has one obvious issue, though. Since it's made in 2021 before Phantom Liberty, when you play as Colonel Hansen, his left hand is merged with a fleshy arm (like the fleshy arm bug cyberarm cycle has, but I digress).
>This mod only supports vanilla and VTK arms right now, though. I see.. well since I rarely use bodytype mods, this version right now is enough for me. Thanks a lot! Take your time to squash any bugs present.
Would it be possible to make a variant of this mod that still shows the mechanical animations for Gorilla Arms? I love that this mod matches nail colors unlike some others, but it would be cool to still have the arms open up when tearing open doors and such.
How much work would it be to patch this into compatibility with the Solo 2.0 body + Veiny Arms v2? I'd be happy to do that work myself if I understood how to, and I'd be happy to learn how to.
Shouldn't be too much work, really. If you're willing to learn, I'd suggest starting to get familiar with Wolvenkit and maybe start out with Appearances: change NPC looks While this is not exactly what you're looking for, it touches a lot of core principles of CB2077 regarding how things look in the game, like how .ent, .app and .mesh files work together. Afterwards you can just open up this mod and look at what I did. Or you can just start with the latter and see if that gets you anywhere. :D
That being said, ArchiveXL has gone a long way since I made this mod and I plan to use some of its newer features to make this mod much less invasive and more compatible. One side effect of that will be that compatibility with other body mods will come for free. Well, as long as the creator of the related body mod didn't do anything bone-headed. And since it won't need to include any assets of other mods, there will be no permission issues either.
ETA: If you really want to get into it, I suggest joining the redmodding discord. It's a friendly and helpful bunch and most of the people with the most intimate knowledge about the game are there as well.
Thanks, I'll take a look! I've just barely started my modding journey, but I have signed up on the Discord and installed Wolvenkit already (shameless self-promotion: I made a thing!
Spoiler:
Show
Just the one thing thus far, but it's a thing and I made it!), so I'll toss the relevant archives into Wolvenkit and poke around in the wiki article you linked and see if I can't bash out a temporary compatibility patch before you make it obsolete. :)

Any ideas? Apologies if the problem is obvious

I assume yours is more advanced that can support different body type mods?
