      I've heard they spawn in cars when you commit crime in Badlands, but I've never seen it myself.

      Since 1.5 they are more common. Apparently some kind of bug was preventing chases from happening most of the time in previous versions.

      Do police chase us? the player? I've seen only scripted chases with other gangs.

      In the current patch, unmodded. I have had police chase me in cars as well as bikes. But it depends on the badge level and area.

   Can something similar be done for companions to mount/dismount motorcycles and follow the player?

    ... I hope with a bunch of Mods, AI Mods, Pathing/NavMeshes Mods, and Scripting/AI Mods (maybe CdProjekt should Release more Mod Tools) we could have a better Cyberpunk 2077 game overall, Police /AI Spawns, Random Encounters, Chase/Pursuits, and I hope CdProjekt Devs could improve Game with the Help of Modders Feedback.
